It's probably safe to say that we all have our favorite characters, but what about our least favorite? Who do you dislike and why? Please refrain from saying things such as "She's ugly" or "he's annoying" without any real explanation. (At least two coherent sentences would be nice. )
As for me, it's between Itsuki and Haruhi.
For Haruhi, she starts off as obnoxious and disrespectful. She pretty much sexually harassed someone for lack of a legitimate reason. Kyon's want to hit her during the film making was totally justified. While she has become a better friend and has developed so much in character, I still have yet to actually enjoy her character. In the later volumes, she shifts from the focus of attention and I couldn't care less. All of the other characters, become far more interesting.
For Itsuki, he's pretty much dull and useless. Besides explaining things to Kyon (and the reader), he has little significance besides being Haruhi's little brown noser. He's only real concern is to keep her mentally preoccupied. Besides the cricket indecent, his actual ESPer powers are useless outside of Gray Space. In the anime, all he really is is a pretty face with virtually no personality, something you cannot say about Nagato at all if you've seen or read The Disappearance. He pretty much holds his facade as a happy pretty boy for Haruhi. The secretive personality he hides in the novels seems interesting, but we never really get to see what he's really like.

I have to say that Haruhi is my least favorite character. She is the main character (not to mention, god.), however, she is completely useless, obnoxious, and annoying. She may decide the fate of the world and how it runs, but she could just go away and be so much easier to deal with. She is always calling out to Kyon if she needs something done, or something for him to carry, etc. She never does anything to Nagato and Itsuki, but she is always all over Mikuru; dressing Mikuru up and making her do things (which she obviously does to make Kyon mad) that she doesn't want to do. She's so confusing.

I'm actually pretty fond of Haruhi. But I agree with you on Koizumi. He doesn't do much.
Mikuru is next. I see her importance as a time traveler, but I don't care for her moe moments. However, that takes away from the humor, and I like the (I'll admit, slightly sad) humor.
I still like the SOS Brigade as a whole though.
