...approved of me joining the Air Force about 10 months ago. Long story short, my Army boyfriend proposed to me, I put my plans on hold to be there for him, and then turned into a completely different man after he proposed. We had a falling out, and we're over. Okay, now that that's over, I'm going back to joining the military. Only I've changed my mind, and I'm joining the army. I've seen my share of it, and I'm actually happy I didn't go through with the Air Force. I'm now trying to secure a job, and am about to go to MEPS.
The thing is my dad approved of the Air Force and said he was proud of me---well, told my mom to tell me that, but that's definitately something coming from my dad.
But he will just NOT approve of the Army. He says it's low tier (well, judging by some--yes, but in and of itself, I don't think so. Sure, it has some ppl who want to skate by, but it also has some of the hardest working people. People just focus on the screw-ups.
How do I convince my dad to think differently of the Army? My dad is an open-minded guy usually, but I'm not sure if he has some beef against the Army or something.
