I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on a masochist character in wrestling. One that geniunely loves to be hurt but is also not unstoppable. Something along the lines of when he has the advantage he starts hurting himself. Example: The opponent is done but the guy grabs a chair from ringside and hits his own head then rushes back in. Promos would be about how euphoric pain is and how it brings him pleasure. So comment away.

That sounds like something DDT or CHIKARA would come up with...then again, they can do that gimmick. For the WWE, no. Although, you could debate that Mankind was a masochist...but nowadays, it'd be hard to pull it off, if not really tacky to try.

Silver Ace Revolver That sounds like Sandman... Sandman wasn't really a masochist...masochists enjoy pain (to an almost sexual level)...Sandman was just too drunk to care.

King of The World Y2J Wasn't Raven like that in ECW? In some regard yes, Raven enjoyed inflicting pain upon others more though. Both Foley and Raven would show moments of enjoyment but that was from reaction not pain.

I think you guys are confused on what the terms mean. Masochists love to receive pain. SADISTS love to dish it out. Also, it's not just enjoyment; it's to a sexual level. So pretty much, a masochist is someone who can get off to being beaten, and a sadist is someone who can get off to beating someone else.

Wrestling is full of people who love to hurt others but a person that welcomes pain onto themself would be fun to watch.
