Hey all, I'm moving and I was wondering what you would sugest magicly to help with the transition from one home to another. I want the new home to feel peacfull and welcomeing. I've heard that bringing in bread and salt first to represent prosparity. I've also heard that you shouldn't bring brooms from one home to another.

You could if you wanted to, although the reasons for not bringing a broom into a new home do make sense to me. If you don't like the thought of wasting a broom (I wouldn't) and you don't want to leave it behind for the new house owners, you could clense it in whichever way you felt most appropriate.
When I leave a house or a flat I clean it, top to bottom. I vacuum, I dust, I wipe down the walls. I clense it literally as well as magically. I take back the part of myself I put into the place. I open all the windows to let the air circulate. When I leave, there's little left in there of me.
When I get to the new place, I take a stick of incense around every wall. I outline every window. I let the smoke get into every corner. If there's a garden I'd go around the boundary as well. As the smoke seeps into the place, I seep into the place too. Sometimes I sing as I go.
If you don't own or rent the place yourself, or you have family or flatmates who aren't entirely happy with the idea, you might want to restrict yourself your own room, depending on what you want to do. To make it feel peaceful and welcoming, put flowers about the house and bake bread. That works guaranteed.
I can't think of any more traditions at the moment.

Leaving pennies out is something I do.

I would also make an offering to the spirits of the land both where you are currently leaving and where you will be moving to. One as a farewell and the other as a hello. I will be staying here. I used to regularly give offerings to the spirit of the land my apartment is on, but it becomes more difficult in the Winter and when my downstairs neighbors are home.

yah...I'm moving to an upstairs appartment from a home with a large garden. I will miss my outdoor rituals. I'm thinking making my balcany into a small garden area. Maybe put up some hanging planters and a nice bench.
