Cool thread. I've fired a lot of guns before not just military-issued ones. A friend of mine actually has a big collection of antique guns whatnot. It's a real beaut 3nodding
Some of them would be a AK-104 (Russian police-issue only does single and three round burst shots). Russian M-38 which is a beast of a carbine, and a Finnish M-39 one of the best Mosin's out there. Just some of the ones I've shot from his collection. My buddy's favorite gun in his collection would be the .300 Savage Featherweight which belonged to his great-grandfather. It hasn't been sighted since the 60's and it shoots like a dream 3nodding

I've shot the SAR-1 before and its pretty good. I've also gotten to shoot the SLR-95 which is fun and accurate. One rifle that has caught my eye would be the Socom 16 from Springfield Armory. I saw it in a local gunstore and it looks good: http://img304.imageshack.us/img304/3424/socom162sn.jpgI actually like the lack of pistol grip. The size and everything about it I like very much. The only problem is that the rail is halfway down the rifle, and there is no way I am going to use an aimpoint like is advertised in the picture. Finally I'm thinking about getting a USP .45. My buddy (the one with the collection) has one of these, and I love it. My favorite handgun, hands down. Since it is already so expensive, I may decide to go all out and get the Mark 23. My grandpa also has his own collection of really nice guns especially ones from WWII. For example he he has a .30 cal carbine w/the paratrooper stock. Still wrapped in that waxed, brown paper w/cosmoline still on it from WWII 3nodding

Wyvern Knight I have only fired a 12 gauge shotgun and a 22 calibur bolt action rifle. crying its ok, you will get your chance when you hit 18 i suggest getting a 12 gauge and an sks get the sks for around 140 or 150, if you pay more that, your getting jewed out of some bucks and for a shotgun, get a pump mossberg 500 or 590 (kinda expenisve, you can get them around 200-600) or egt a cnetury yl12 (for around 130!)

While I was in boot camp, and we were getting ready for our training on the rifle range (with M-16 A2s), my Senior Drill Instructor brought in his personal AR-15 (The civilian version of the M-16) to show us.
Let me explain something first, my Senior was part of the Marine Corps rifle team, and instead of wearing a rifle badge like we do, he wears MEDALS. The man has scored a perfect score on the recruit range, which is 250 points. eek
Anyway... his AR-15 is 15 pounds, twice the normal weight, and has a stainless steel barrel and a massivley fine hair trigger. The slightest bit of pressure on that trigger sets it off. surprised That gun was beautiful.
