Rin's parents were war refugees, so she was poor right off the bat. Her mother died when she was only 2 weeks old. For 5 years her father raised her, and even taught her how to steal so she could survive. Eventually he was violently killed by a gang of men in the streets. Rin decided at that young age that she would some day rise to power and change the village. At age 7 the girl enrolled in the academy, and it wasn't easy. Many kids there were of higher social ranking. In fact Rin was quite lucky to get into the academy. Despite the constant bullying she remained in the academy and proved her worth by becoming a genin sooner than the other kids. Her new squad consisted of Youmu, a shy girl with short white hair and green eyes, Yamato, a snobby boy with black hair and blue eyes, Takeshi, the squad leader who had blonde hair in a ponytail and dark brown eyes. Finally Rin was the final member of the group. Despite the annoying Yamato constantly insulting her, she enjoyed the time with her squad. Youmu became her first friend. Not to mention Takeshi, one of the nicest people she's ever met. In fact he eventually adopted Rin and made her his personal pupil. Though throughout the time she was a genin her mission was still unchanged, she would become the Utekikage and reform the village. This was only made more clear to her when something tragic occurred, her entire squad was massacred.
It began as a normal day. Rin was woken up at her home and told that a mission was assigned. Her mentor and foster father had already left, so she should move quickly. The girl of course did as she was told and headed out to the gates of the village to meet her team. They were all there, and as usual Yamato began making fun of her. This time his topic was the reason she was late. Anyhow they made their way out of the village. It was a simple mission of receiving some documents at a midway point from a messenger of Konohagakure. Nothing difficult, and if they moved quickly the mission could be done by the next day. However things didn't work out as planned. Along the way they were ambushed by a group of rouges. It was Amegakures careless mistake for not noticing that the request had been a fake. The group fought long and hard, and towards the end Takeshi dismissed his team so they could escape. Despite Yamato's and Youmu's constant pleas, Rin refused to leave him behind. However as she watched him get violently killed she knew what had to be done. Her previous mission came back into mind; Rin had to live to change her village. So with tears in her eyes the girl turned and fled with her team. One remaining rouge was on their tail, but Rin proved her powers by awakening her Doujutsu at that time. With it she was able to kill the ninja. Upon making it to the village gates another shocking thing was revealed to her. The Youmu and Yamato she'd traveled back with were not real, they were simply enemies who'd used transformation jutsu. Her teammates had died in the battle without her realizing it.
Though of course these two enemies had made a fatal mistake. They'd come back with Rin all the way to the village gates where multiple ninja stood guard. Of course one was able to detect the betrayal and immediately killed them. Rin however wasn't aware of this, so when she saw what she thought were her two teammates get killed the girl collapsed. Days later she awakened again and was told the whole story. However at the same time it was told to her that the chuunin exam already began. Rin completely forgot about it before. The mission was actually planned so they could make it to the required village. Retrieve the papers, return to the village and deliver them, then finally head out for the test. However due to her injuries and loss of team the girl could not participate. Yet her courageousness in battle ended up being rewarding. The kage promoted her to Chuunin, and not long after Rin made it to Jounin. She joined the Anbu of Amegakure for a short time before quitting and finally being promoted to her dream rank, kage. What happens after this is something only time will tell...
