From the very back of Mr. Hyde's building you hear the sound of a hundred pitiful mews. This particular area of the dwelling smells severely and you feel your chest tighten at what might be lurking underneath. If one were brave enough they would see a trap door, and upon entering the depths below, they would see rows upon rows of slave kitties in cages. There is no light here, except for a few tiny pin size holes where light is jutting in from overhead. The feeling of isolation and hopelessness is overwhelming and you feel you might grow sick.
It is here where Hyde keeps the cats that he has trouble selling, whether because they've been on the black market for too long, or because the kitties were resold back to him. Sometimes it's because guards have picked up the kitties off the streets, and as punishment they are being sent back here.
