That's one thing I hate about the possible complications of upgrading a tank. A few weeks back I upgraded Sonoka's tank from a 2.5 gal to a 5 gal. Even though he loves his new tank and with the fact that I've been doing frequent water changes due to it not being completely cycled yet, he got fin rot. Now his tail is all ripped up.... crying I've been medicating him for the last week and thankfully today I finally see signs of it starting to heal. Should I stop medicating him now and just keep doing the daily 1/4 water changes or is that to much or should I keep with the med until its almost healed? The fin rot started due to new fin tissue that had just finished growing back is why I'm wondering. On another note...my new Rojo is just fine.... biggrin

Dose the meds for how ever long it says to. Dont go over or less then that, or it will have been pointless. Daily water changes can also be used instead of meds, and is cheaper IMO lol

I've been using Betta Revive diluted for the last 7 days because its like a last resort medicine for various diseases because the pet store didn't have anything else at the time. It looks like the the part of his blue fins that had turned a reddish brown has almost completely gone away, but I just wasn't sure if I'd be taking him off too soon even though it said to dose for 7 days due to it. I'm thinking since it's diluted maybe continuing the meds for 2-3 more days like that and then taking him off of them. Since it was for a wide range of things I didn't want to overdose him is all and this is the first time I've ever used Betta Revive. Idk. After that, I'd just do frequent water changes until his back fin start to heal well. What do you think?

Sounds alright to me. You couls also use Stress Coat to help his fins grow back when you do water changes.

Thankyou...^_^ His fins are starting to heal back. Thankfully his fins tend to heal really quickly usually.
