there is nothing better than the "Catholic" rosary because it is from heaven,
it's made up of the "Our Father", the "Hail Mary" which is in the bible except for Jesus' name being added in after "And blessed is the fruit of thy womb",
then there is the "Glory be", and the Fatima prayer "O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy".
all very beautiful prayers, but there are two parts to the rosary, there is the vocal prayers, such as those i listed, and then there is the mental prayers, which are the meditations on the chief mysteries of the life, death, and glory of Jesus and Mary,
the best book you can read on the rosary is "The secret of the rosary" by St. Louis De Montfort, which you can buy, or read for free online, which is separated into two books here - http://www.archive.org/details/TheSecretOfTheRosarySelections

it's not supposed to be in separate books, but that is just the way i found it online, otherwise it is one books, which you can get here -

there is nothing better than saying the rosary the way Our Blessed Lady has asked, because remember, she does nothing except for and by God,
i know you already know in part the importance and beauty of the rosary, but here are some quotes from various apparitions that i think will help you to better understand the relationship between God and His mother, and His mother and us -
In apparitions to Ven. Mary of Agreda (1602-1665), a Franciscan nun and mystical writer in Spain, the Holy Trinity revealed the privileges that Our Blessed Mother should enjoy in virtue of Her participation in His Majesty. The three Divine Persons placed upon the head of Mary a crown of unmatched splendor while saying: "My Beloved...Thou shalt be the Lady and Sovereign of the seraphim, of all ministering spirits, the angels and of the entire universe of creatures...In thy hands...we place the influences...of the heavens...and...do Thou distribute (them) according to thy will and our own will shall be at thy disposal for the execution of thy wishes...We make Thee...the Treasurer of our goods;...of our grace for distribution; nothing do We wish to be given...which does not pass through thy hands; and nothing do We deny which Thou wishest to concede to men."
One day in 1460 Blessed Alan de la Roche was saying Mass. Our Lord, Who wished to spur him on to preach the Rosary, spoke to him from the Sacred Host: " 'How can you crucify Me again so soon?' Jesus said. 'What did you say, Lord?' asked Blessed Alan, horrified. 'You crucified Me once before by your sins,' answered Jesus, 'and I would willingly be crucified again rather than have my Father offended by the sins you used to commit. You are crucifying Me again now because you have all the learning and understanding that you need to preach My Mother's Rosary and you are not doing so. If you only did this you could teach many souls the right path and lead them away from sin - but you are not doing it and so you, yourself, are guilty of the sins that they commit.' "
In 1481 Our Lady appeared to Venerable Dominic, the Carthusian, and said, "Whenever one who is in the state of grace says the Rosary while meditating on the mysteries of the life and passion of Jesus Christ, he obtains full and entire remission of all sins."
"Our Lady said to Blessed Alan, 'I want you to know that although there are numerous indulgences already attached to the praying of My Rosary, I shall add many more to every fifty Hail Marys...FOR THOSE WHO PRAY THEM DEVOUTLY, ON THEIR KNEES - BEING, OF COURSE, FREE FROM MORTAL SIN. And whosoever shall persevere in the devotion of the Holy Rosary...I shall obtain for him full remission of the penalty and of the guilt of all his sins at the end of his life...It is very easy for me because I am the Mother of the King of Heaven, and He calls me full of grace...I am able to dispense freely to my children.' "
St. Dominic said to Blessed Alan that "by means of this holy practice of the Rosary you may draw all people to the real science of virtues."
St. Louis de Montfort said, "It would hardly be impossible for me to put into words how much Our Lady thinks of the Holy Rosary and of how she vastly prefers it to all other devotions. Neither can I sufficiently express how highly she rewards those who work to preach the devotion, to establish it and spread it, nor on the other hand how firmly she punishes those who work against it." He also said, "Nor have I any better secret of knowing whether a person is for God than to examine if he likes to say the Hail Mary and the Rosary."
i could say many more wonderful things about the rosary, but i don't think i could say it nearly as well as it is written in that book i linked, so read that, it's really the best book you can read on the rosary, and has pretty much everything you need to know about the rosary in it...
i know you are asking about the Catholic rosary vs. the anglican, but i would definitely recommend the Catholic one, because the rosary is not just said in any way we prefer, but it is designed in a specific way, if we do it as we are told, to give us the grace and blessing of God,
and do not think that it is not right to pray to Our Lady, because remember that she is the mother of God, and God loves her more than all others, and i would imagine that such a comment if not made in ignorance, would offend God, simply because He has given her to us as a great means of help and protection, and a channel of His grace,
just imagine it like this - when you love someone very much, more than anything else, you want to tell everyone and make everyone love that person, well, for Jesus it's a far greater love, and He wishes for all of us to love the Mother He loves so much to,
it's really not a matter of "having" to give such great honor to Our Lady, but it's a matter of Jesus wanting us to.
personally i feel a sorrow for anyone who does not love Our Lady and seek her aid in their life, because she is such a great help for us and loves us so dearly, and i imagine that if i feel this sorrow, which is not a terribly deep sorrow, that Jesus must feel it on a far greater level, not because He is offended, but because He loves us and He loves His mother, and He wants us all to love each other and interact with one another, which is the way He made us to be, we are creatures of interaction and communication, and that does not stop at heaven, but only becomes greater and more perfect,
God is pleased when we help each other, and He is most pleased when His Blessed Mother helps us, because she can help more than any of His other creatures, and He loves her more than any of His other creatures, there is no other like her, and so she receives special privileges that no one else can.
we have God Our Father, but every good and perfect family has a Mother to, and God wishes to also give us a mother, so we should take advantage of that, and love His mother as if she were our own, we have a mother and father here on earth, and we likewise need a mother and father in heaven, because both the mother and father have their own unique rules to play in our life, and we receive different guidance and help from both of them, they are just essential to our lives, and they all work for the ultimate purpose, if we cooperate with Gods graces, of making us into the saints God intended us to be...
although not everyone has an earthly mother or father, but how many of the saints, who did not have a mother, seek the Mother of God as their own mother?
it is a beautiful thing and God is very much pleased with it, we only do ourselves a great injustice and miss out on many great benefits by not making Jesus' mother our own mother.
the greatest miracles in history have been obtained for us by Our Lady, even the greatest miracle of all, the Holy Eucharist, we can say has been given to us through Our Lady, since Jesus was born from her, and so He is her own flesh and blood,
i'm not saying that she is the source of any miracles or graces, but she is the greatest intercessor we have, because remember, God says "ask and you shall receive", well, who better to ask intercession from than the mother of God? God would not refuse His mother anything she asks(and she would never ask what is bad for us),
well, i think i've written enough, and sorry if i made that to long, but i love to speak about Our Lady and Gods love for her and us...it's just such a beautiful relationship and union that is between God and His mother, and His mother and us...and i really hope that this helps you out, because you have nothing but great graces and benefits to obtain by saying the rosary the way it should be said, and by developing a close relationship with the mother of God.
alright well, i hope this helps, take care.
