Since this is a DBZ Gaming forum, I'm curious if anyone on here is a fan/ever played, collected, traded, etc. The old DBZ card game from Score Entertainment. It was a huge success, started in 2000 with Promos from Burger King, and ended in 2005. Today the game is still played/collected/sold, and helped DBZ fans find other fans, talk about the show, the video games, etc. Many of the cards you still see on ebay today, and some (depending on what it is) can be worth anywhere from small amounts, to bigger bucks like hundreds or even thousands. (About 4 hit the thousands marker) the game was advertised everywhere. Through promotional events, cons, hummer tours, and media. The promos were given out from Fast food like Burger King, to actual grocery store items like Kraft Cheese Singles. And were fond in the VHS tapes, DVDs, action figures, Video Games, Beckett Magazine, Shonen Jump, tons of video game/card game/media magazines (I could name a huge list) to anything you bought DBZ pretty much had these cards thrown in. Figures by Irwin Toys, to whatever merchandise you name it throughout DBZ's high life of 2000-2005. So what this is for, is to see if anyone used to play/collect/trade/sell. And if anyone out there still does.

The game was the second DBZ game to hit America after the "Ani-Mayhem" Sorta a pun on "anime mayhem" which didn't get too popular/live long. Scores DBZ game lasted a few years, and the products were thrown into anything "DBZ/DBGT" as merchandise. The game was later followed up by a "Re-Z" that flopped within its first year, and later Bandai made a DBZ game very much Similar to their "Naruto" game. However neither hit the sales/life that the Score Entertainment's DBZ/DBGT game did. So for anyone who used to play/collect/etc. This is a place to reminisce on old times, on how friends were made, voice actors met, and how it even lead some to their video games and gaming tournaments. I'm a veteran of their DBZ/DBGT card game and of the video games. So to anyone here who enjoyed the old game, feel free to discuss it below. Also if anyone still plays/collects/wants to buy/trade/sell. I can show you a website where the game is much alive, for old fans still into it or coming back to the game, or for new fans alike. Hope some of the DBZ fans are familiar with this old game, feel free to discuss it below, thanks, and Enjoy!

I used to collect them. They were yet another part of my ever growing card collection that I don't have the slightest reason why I have at times, but I collect(ed)
them none the less. mrgreen

Thats good news, I'm not sure if you ever played the game, tho its still played today. They have a site called "DBZ Top Tier Gaming" where you can buy/sell/trade. Surprisingly many of the cards are worth a lot today. The games made a sudden comeback all these years later. They are also sold on ebay, normally for rather big amounts. (Depending on which items for sale) if you are ever interested in playing/trading/buying/selling, check out Top Tier Gaming as old players of the game still exist. That and ebay at times can give you a idea on how much things are worth if you type in "DBZ Ultra Rare or DBZ Uber" I've seen many hit the hundreds and thousands price range, it just depends on whats selling and when its selling lol. Hope this helps, always glad to see a veteran of the game!

The burger king figures/cards aren't worth too much. Tho the Burger King card "Vegeta's Smirk" that came with the Vegeta figure is super useful. It gets you a Dragonball out of your deck, and Dragonball Victory is one of the main 2 ways to win. Very few cards in all of Z/GT get you a dragonball, about a handful or two.

Did you by any chance get any of the Japanese Bandai Super Battle Collection figures? Some of those are worth some nice money too. Like Vol. 00 Son Goku Perfect Version. Vol. 5 Future Trunks or some of the 30's like I think 38 is Super Saiyajin 4 Son Goku also another one probably like 37 is Bebi Vegeta Golden Oozaru. Thats worth a lot too. Depending on what you have DBZ Card/figure wise you could be looking at some money. A Bebi Vegeta Golden Oozaru by Bandai's Super Battle Collection Original in box is ATLEAST 100 bucks. Normally more than.

As for cards, some of them such as the Super Android 17's Ki Focus, or Super Android 17's Ki Intensity (Intensity is the rarest DBZ/GT card) go for $2,000-$3,500 on ebay. Just last week I saved a ebay auction for a Ki Intensity, it ended within 6 days at $2,070.00 so depending on what you have, you could be looking at some good merchandise lol. Dragonball/Z/GT merchandise is no joke on many ebay listings.

Most the DBZ card games were lame The Animayhem sucked, as did Re-Z, and the Bandai game. Scores Original DBZ game was fun tho. It played out much like a video game, therefore it was, in my opinion, better or more fun atleast, than other card games. The deck was a "health bar" you could transform, so you had different levels, like Level 1 would be normal, Level 2 Super Saiyan, Level 3 Super Saiyan 2, etc. You'd power up in the game, and the more powerful you were, the stronger you were, so the more your physical attacks would do. Also by having "power stages" you could fire energy attacks that would hit the opponents health bar. If you did a physical attack that would hit their stages, causing them to be weaker, less likely to shoot energy attacks, and when they ran out of power stages your physical attacks would start doing huge damage on their health bar. (Just like how evading physical attacks in games drains your energy some, or how if they break your guard in games when you have no energy your wide open) its the same principal. You could stop physicals or energy attacks, and they had battlegrounds/locations. So instead of entering "combat" you could choose to fly to a different location to fight for its effect. You could also have "allies" like how you'd do "team battles" in the game, or how they'd have the Z Fighters in the show. And you could do Fusion, where both characters would leave play, and the Fusion character would be brought in. (Like Vegito for example) then there were other game mechanics too that added more strategy to it. So really, having been a former winner of their video game tournaments, and their card game tournaments, the card game was MUCH more challenging. There was more strategy, and it covered all of DBZ/GT and the movies. It was a very fun game, so many elements of it were straight from the show/video games. If I'd ever recommend a "card game" to anyone, it would be that one. The other DBZ card games (Like Bandai's DBZ game that is in Naruto style, is complete trash). Also Scores Original DBZ cards are worth big money. I have some cards worth more than some peoples CARS. I've sold some for hundreds to even thousands, its the only DBZ card game worth money. And its the only card game in existence besides Magic the Gathering where cards are worth thousands. Plus from playing the tournaments I've won prizes of cash and promos both in hundreds and thousands lol. I've made more money in a card game, than most people do in their hobbies/sports. Unless they are like a professional baseball player or some junk. So I'd highly recommend the game, I met lots of peoples, got to travel for it, and was a guest of honor at tournaments, and got paid money both to play, and as prizes for me playing, and my stuffs worth big bucks lol. And its much more fun than the other card games I've seen out there, including the other DBZ card games, the other 3/4 DBZ games out there are complete trash, and aren't worth anything. Maybe a few 20-40 dollar cards out there TOPS. But nothing in the hundreds and thousands price range like Scores original one lol.
