I finally caught a Houndour, took me effin forever. Oh this is in Soul Silver. Too broke to buy a new game xp
I have a question, are Natures pre-set per Egg?
aka, if I hatched it, didn't like the nature, and didn't save but restarted and tried to hatch again from the same egg, could I possibly get a different nature? or do I just "try again?", and go back to the DayCare Man for a new one?

i think its random so you wouldnt have to go to the man for another. o 3o
but im not a very good breeder. xD
-is too lazy to lvl them up-
the only thing i breed is evee...

It's just that the last 5 times I've gotten a Serious Nature with a Early Bird Trait and I'm trying to get a Timid with a Flash Fire trait. I have a Timid Ditto with a Bashful male Houndour that has a Flash Fire.

ohmai flashfire!!!! thats an amazing trait xD so everytime youve resetted you got serious/early bird? O.o

Everything about a pokémon is decided as soon as the egg is received from the daycare man. If you want a different nature / ability / IV / or color (shiny), you will have to get another egg.
Also, if you want Timid nature, give your Timid Ditto an Everstone. This increases your odds of getting Timid nature from 1 out of 25 to 1 out of 2 (50%). Ability is a random 50-50 chance on pokémon with two possible abilities; so breed until you get the one you want.

I'm having zero luck with trying to find a female houndour that I want to breed with a male rattata/raticate to learn pursuit. I have a male houndour right now in Daycare.

But for normal species that have a chance of being either gender there is always a chance of producing an egg of the opposite gender. It depends on the species what the chance of getting that gender is, though; for Houndour it's 50%, and you could just be having zero luck. lol
