So, I have noticed that there are a huge amount of online stores that you can buy costuming things on! Unfortunatly most of thoes items not only cost a lot period, but they usually have huge shipping costs as well. As I was shopping for fun stuff for my costume as well I discovered that you can find loads of clothing especially just by going around and looking! For example I found a really cheap black formal vest that you would wear under a tux or whatever at Target (cheap is relative to other stores such as men's wearhouse and such lol) but I also found all sorts of semi-formal shirts that could easily be adapted to become Steampunky!
So I just wanted to dedicate a thread not only to stores where you can get cheap costuming material, but also to making everyday clothing into something really unique and compatable with a steampunk costume! biggrin

Honestly, I find most of my materials/costume pieces at local Thrift stores, resale shops and perhaps the occassional yard sale. Prices of everything vary widely in between, but you can usually find some very good deals if you remain adamant in your search.

Army surplus stores tend to have good goggles if you dig about those places.
