An organization of scientist came up with a brilliant idea to create a series of genetically modified mutants. Each mutant was to be created in a test tube, then would be given life when the scientist saw fit. Each experiment was successful; ten were created. The scientists called this group "The Ten". These experiments each had an ability or some sort of characteristic that kept them from being normal human beings. They live within the facility in which they were created, having access to every room they wish to go, excluding the restricted areas. With the exception of the older experiments, most of them have never been outside into the real world. They've never came into contact with anyone outside of their 'home' other than the scientists and the occasional members of a higher organization coming to observe the experiments. With no one else, the mutants seek each other out for companionship, some of it against the scientist's wishes. They try to go about their strange lives, slowly losing their patience in the confinements of where they're being kept all along while learning the true purpose of their existance.
