I'm sure that there are other readers here, so I thought I'd make this thread.
What book are you reading right now?
Myself, I'm focused on The Catcher in the Rye for English. I'm actually enjoying it a lot.
Feel free to discuss others' books or post some favorites and suggestions!

I just finished the memoir, Running with Scissors. That is one screwy book. Before that, I read Wicked and Son of a Witch. I am not sure if I liked the writing styles on those or not. :/

Really? In what way was the style different? I've been meaning to read them - being that they're so popular and all.
I'm in the middle of this book called Mister Monday by Garth Nix right now. 3nodding

Hanajima-chan Really? In what way was the style different? I've been meaning to read them - being that they're so popular and all. I'm in the middle of this book called Mister Monday by Garth Nix right now. 3nodding I have heard of that. Well, more like seen it around Borders. The thing that I really didn't like about the style of Wicked was that it kept jumping 5-10 years at a time. There would be some really interesting thing, it would get exciting... then jump. They would just kinda referance back to it, but not really explain it too much. It took reading Son of a Witch to really fill in some of the gaps. And from what it looks like, the musical can't even come close to the pure... vividness of the books.

[Reading Son of a Witch right now, I like it though and confused about the main character's past which I highly bet is cleared up in Wicked which I haven't opened yet. xD]
[Finished Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass a few days ago and was surprised by the.... strangeness of the worlds and characters in the book.]

Switching between Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince (translations are such slow things...) and Agatha Christie's mysteries.

Kiara Rouge [Reading Son of a Witch right now, I like it though and confused about the main character's past which I highly bet is cleared up in Wicked which I haven't opened yet. xD] Yeeeaaahh.... Wicked helps a lot. Though with enough deductive reasoning, it can kinda stand on its own. It is just a lot better with Wicked. 3nodding

That was something that I really liked.

I recently finished A History of Forgetting by Caroline Adderson. I was quite relieved that I enjoyed it. The last novel we read in English class was DREADFUL! I detest Jane Austen. mad Anywho Adderson had such a gorgeous style to her writing. The language was simple, almost crude at times and the characters were nicely done. Rather sad though.
Now I'm on to Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich. I LOVE her books with a passion. Hence why one of them doesn't last me more than a couple days. Unfortunately the library decided to send me a large print copy so it's a couple hundred pages more than normal and is thus too heavy to lug to school and back. xp
