What is the RBPS?
The Role and Post Battle System (from here on referred to as RPBS) is a system I developed that allows the characters in an RP to have a more RPG-like battle style. This not only helps us enjoy the RPs in a different, fresher way but it also eliminated the possibility of Godmodding, which good RPers OH SO HATE!!!
When players RP, they usually make post after post, saying what they would like to happen with the attacks they launch. However, as is dictated by our human nature, we will try to evade the attack or come out of it unharmed. This is where the RPBS comes into play
How do you do it?
When making a post, players have the opportunity of making a post action. One of the options is the opportunity to post a dice roll with the post as well. The RPBS takes advantage of this, allowing the use of dice to decide the outcomes of battles.
An important thing to know is that, for the effects of this guild, whenever an RP will use the RPBS, the Role Play Master (RPM) of Role Play's Owner MUST write RPBS in the RP's description so others know that the system will be used.
The steps to follow are a little tricky so I'll go by them as detailed as I can make them.
------------------------
First off...
------------------------
Because now dice will be used to determine the outcome of the battle, scores will be kept to ensure that things are going how they should (in other words: that players don't perform one hit killers). Because of this, a :Stats: system needs to also be implemented in all RPs with the RPBS.
The Stats (and their explanations) are the following:
HP:
The character's health. If the character's health falls to 0, it loses consciousness.
Attack:
The character's damage power. If the character lands an attack (be it magical or physical) the character's Attack Score will be deducted from the opponent's Max HP.
Defense:
Sets the number that the opponent needs to reach in a Hit Roll (explained later) to be able to land an attack on the character.
These are the main stats that are used in the RPBS.
------------------------
Step one: Choosing Traits
------------------------
The first step begins at character creation. Here, at this time (when posting the character info) characters must distribute points among their HP, Attack and Defense stats.
Players have 8 points to distribute between hp, attack and defense. Players may chose to not give points to a stat but no stat may raise above 4.
Which means: that characters may have:
HP:[1] / ATT: [3] / DEF: [4]
or
HP:[4] / ATT: [2] / DEF: [2]
or
HP:[0] / ATT: [4] / DEF: [4]
Because none of the stats go above 4.
However they MAY NOT have.
HP: [0] / ATT: [2] / DEF: [6]
or
HP:[6] / ATT: [1] / DEF: [1]
or
HP:[2] / ATT: [6] / DEF: [0]
Because one of the stats is above 4.
------------------------
Step two: Writing Traits
------------------------
Once you've distributed your points, you need to score your stats. You do this by following the rules below:
Max HP = 25 (+5 for each point given to HP when distributing points)
Base Attack = +1(the number of points given at point distribution)
Base Defense = +1(the number of points given at point distribution)
So... An Example:
Post this inside the character's info post and that should be it for the stats.
------------------------
Step three: Fighting
------------------------
Here is the most complicated part of the whole deal. It's mainly the most complicated part because players must be aware of certain things for the fight to flow accordingly.
First thing to be aware of:
Both players must be aware of both character's stats.
Important because it will save you the trouble of saying "Hey... why'd you hit me so hard?" and then having the opponent say... um... duh! look at my attack."
Second thing to be aware of:
When attempting an action, players MUST and I repeat MUST chose to roll 1 8-sided dice (1d cool when making their post.
Important because this is what determines whether their attack will hit or not. if a player forgets to roll the dice in their post, the attack automatically misses the target (unless the target was not the opponent).
Rules of the dice:
1: When an 8 is rolled, the attacks hits automatically, regardless of the opponent's Defense. Also, the damage dealt is doubled.
And now to try and explain the steps to battle.

RPMs may choose to modify certain things as long as they make it known that the RPBS has been modified for that RP. (Do this by adding RPBS+ in the description of the RP)
