(( OOC: And finally, we've begun! Sorry about taking so long... ^^;; ))
Ororo walked through one of the doors leading out of the mansion, looking around for Luke. She knew he liked to spend a lot of time outdoors, something she also liked to do, so in her mind they had a bit of kinship. Smiling, she took a few quick steps before taking to the air. Much easier to cover more ground from the air than on foot.
When she finally did find him, she landed gently about fifteen feet away. "Hello, Luke. Enjoying the fresh air?"

Ororo...he had smelled her comming for quite some time. She was true, the air was quite fresh. The professor had chosen quite a wonderous spot for his institute, he had to admit.
"And that's why it can't be done. It just defies the laws of physics! I mean, sure, I can understand fire manipulation. That's just controlling the heat in the air around you. Usually they don't even CREATE fire, they have to have some outside source creature the fire and THEN manipulate it. Hell, even my control over metal makes sense...but flight?" Ares explained, apparantly to no-one. On cue, he noticed Ororo approaching. "At least HERS makes sense. She manipulates the weather! Of course, I have no idea how to explain that one off..."
Luke had already turned to face Ororo, and Ares, sensing that he was about to be ignored, turned to walk off himself. "God, nobody listens to me around here. Thank god I'm not forced into some stupid group with these people..." he muttered as he left the scene.
Sighing, Luke shook his head until his attentions returned to Ororo. "It is quite enjoyable now...the boy is smart but he just doesn't know when to shut up..." He chuckled, shaking his head, before his face grew serious once more. "You need me for something?" he asked, already knowing the answer. He could smell it on her. He could smell what she wanted...though he wasn't sure why she needed him. Of course, he smelled the scent of the Professor on her...no doubt he sent her.

"The Professor's requested you come see him. There's something he would like to talk to you about," she replied easily, her posture relaxed. She watched Ares leave but as he was still putting distance between him and they there wasn't really a use for saying at least 'hello' to him. "Should I ask what you and Ares were discussing?"

Ha. So the professor DID want to see him. He knew it. Or at least, partially knew it. Close enough. "What we were discussing? If you can call it that...he was trying to explain to me how mutants have set back science twenty years because there are a lot of mutant powers that can't be explained, or break the laws of physics, or something like that. I don't know all that sciency mumbo-jumbo, myself..."
Taking a final puff of his cigarette, he put it out with his fingers and flicked it into a nearby trash can. Pizza, cheeseburger...and something he definately didn't want to have any part of. "Alright, well...I guess I'll go see what the professor wants then..."
Luke made his way back into the school and knocked politely on the Professor's door. Sure, he was supposed invited...but Luke never just barged into a room...
Unlike some people...

"Come in," Xavier called. He placed the marker in his book before setting it on the desk. "Ah, Luke. Sit down, please."
Luke sat down. "Hello professor...you wanted to see me?"
"Indeed. I'm planning a bit of a team activity in two days, and I wanted you in on it. Specifically, as team leader. Interested?" Xavier asked, linking his fingers together in his lap.

"A...team event?" he said, slightly confused. Of course, he could easily assume that it meant that he, as the team leader, would be leading a group of mutants in some sort of exercise. Yet another assignment to assist him in his "guidance counseler/teacher/whatever" training.
"Yeah...sure...whateer. I guess. As long as I don't have to deal with that Ares kid..." he replied, still a little bitter about what occured earlier. Luke didn't like him, mostly because he was reckless, he was cocky...and he was a lot smarter than Luke was, so and Luke always felt like the little kid was talking down to him. The boy was just lucky Luke had a good patience.

Xavier kept his face neutral, though inside he was amused. "Actually, he is going to be one of your teammates, along with Shiori and Elektra. Your mission will be to track and tag Ms. Munroe. With paint guns. You and the others will have today and tomorrow to not only learn how to use the guns, but to spend some time together to get used to being a team."

On the outside, Luke had a cool and calm composure. However mentally, his jaw was dropping. A fact that the professor, the worlds most powerful physhic, undoubtably knew.
Of course, he was quite concerned about how two ferals were supposed to have trouble finding someone. Then again, the whole true problematic portion of the team exercise may just be putting up with Ares.
"I can see putting me and Shiori on a team, since we have had experience with each other before. However...why Ares? And who is this Elektra girl? I know a lot of people here, but she seems to be eluding me..."

"I chose Ares because he needs an outlet for his violent tendencies and this will give him a chance to do it and I hope a clearer head as well," Xavier replied. "I'm not saying you have to become friends, though I admit that is a desirable if eventual outcome, but he at least should be able to develop the respect to work with each other without any differences getting in the way." Working on curbing the boy's violence would take time. This was the first step in it.
"Elektra Provenzano is a girl who can manipulate electricity," he continued. "She's to work on controlling her powers. Considering your target, she could prove useful to you.
"And last but certainly not least, Shiori because she knows you. She needs to start connecting with other people, but I don't believe in the sink-or-swim method when it comes to social interactions."

Again, Luke nodded at the explanations. Most of them made perfect sense to him. He and Shiori had made quite a lot of progress together, she seemed to be slowly willing to open up a bit more, interact some more, get out some more with others. This team operation would definately be a daunting task for her, but in the end it definately would help her.
"Are you sure I am the right one for Ares, though? I mean, I know you can't just hand him off to Logan...despite their similarities we do NOT need two of him running around in the world. God forbid...but really, are you sure I am right for him?" Luke sighed, really not thinking he could change the Professor's mind. He had a plan, Luke just wasn't sure what it was.
He also wasn't sure how he could help someone having trouble with electric powers. Sure, he could understand helping Shiori...but their mutations were similar. But electricity?
Now that he thought about it, though...Ares had made mention about electricital-type powers during his rant earlier on. What was he talking about? Luke strained to remember, but he was fairly certain that he just wasn't paying attention. Was this all part of the professors plans?
Sighing, Luke stood up. "Well, I accept...so we have two days to prepare? Man...I don't even know how to shot a gun...let alone teach three other people how to..."

Xavier gave Luke a smile of gentle kindness. "Yes, you have two days, and you needn't worry about teaching the others or yourself. I recommend that you find your teammates and persuade them to go out to the target range on the west lawn. Ms. Munroe will be there to show you how to load, fire, and unload the guns."

Luke raised an eyebrow at that comment. Their target was going to teach them how to shoot so that they could shoot at her? But then he remember...it WAS Oro. She wasn't like that, Oro was definately cool.
"Well, it looks like step one is a scavanger hunt for my teammates. Have a good day Professor..." Luke nodded politely before leaving Xavier's study. Flaring his nostrils, he quickly picked up the scent of Ares and Shiori in the hallways. And he definately didn't feel like dealing with Ares so soon...so it was off to find Shiori. Sniffing a bit, he headed of to where the strongest scent, the freshest. Wherever THAT lead to...

((Sorry, but you guys get a lame post from me tonight.))
Hungry, Shiori strolled the hallways of the Institute towards the kitchen. She covered her mouth as she yawned, fangs visible though her opened hand. After a little over a week at being there, she had finally gotten herself on a more normal sleep pattern. Unfortunately, at least in terms of classes, that meant waking up between ten and eleven in the morning. But seeing as it was the weekend it didn't matter a whole lot, and so the furred feral was allowed her extra hours of rest.
Arriving at the kitchen Shiori paused, her hand against the two-way door, detecting the scent of Luke, and he seemed to be heading in her direction. Because it was her first week attending classes, she hadn't been able to see him much during the later part of the week. He was one of the few people at the Institute she really talked to, and it'd be nice to catch up with him. Things always seemed to be going on in a school full of mutants, and him being the counselor, Luke always had a story to tell.
Taking her hand from the door, Shiori waited to see if he indeed would walk by.

As Luke turned the corner, he saw Shiori standing outside of the kitchen. This was starting off easier than he had expected. And hopefully, he could kill a lot of time with her and delay having to go find that Ares kid. "Ah, Shiori...um...how are you doing today?" He wasn't exactly sure how to break it to her that she was, more or less, being forced into a team environment.

Aha, so he did come her way. As he neared, Shiori greeted him with a small nod, smiling. "Luke-san, konnichiwa. I was just getting some breakfast." She said, motioning to the door of the kitchen. "How are you do--"
Shiori paused, noticing that he seemed uneasy, almost like he was unsure of something. Ears drooping a little in concern, she hesitantly asked, "Anou.. is something bothering you?" Counseling has to be difficult at times, so perhaps there was a conflict he needed to resolve. A fight, or an injury perhaps? Though... if it was the personal matter of a student, then she had no right to hear of it. Luke talked a little about the incidents around campus, but he never delved into private matters. "Never mind, if it's confidential.." she added after a moment's thought.
