The Fountain Palace is the center of the Thyvian government. Held within its massive stone walls is the Great Hall, the seat of High Sorceress Tialian, Holder of the Circlet of Thyvia and Grand Magistrate Gratris, Lawmaker and High Justice of Thyvia By their very command, any subject, no matter how high or low of birth, is welcome to speak with the High Sorceress or the Grand Magistrate. It is also a place for diplomatic visits, State Banquets, and other various Affairs of State. Included in the Palace are chambers for visiting diplomats. The enormous doors of the Fountain Palace are open to all who wish to enter, no matter rank or stature, noble or commoner, friend or foe.
Rules of the Fountain Palace:
All weapons are to be surrendered to the guards in the antechamber, unless the weapons are being carried by the personal guard of a visiting diplomat. There will be NO exceptions.
No matter rank or race, all people within are equal in the eyes of the High Sorceress and Grand Magistrate, and all are subject to the laws of both High and Low Justice. However, depending on the crime committed, a non-Thyvian might be extradited to their respective kingdom.
If a Protectorate Guardsman tells you not to enter a specific area, or perform a specific act, you obey. Further acts of disobedience will result in punishment, from a simple eviction, to being placed under arrest and brought before the Grand Magistrate.
No one is to be put to death at any time, for any reason. The death penalty can only be given by the Grand Magistrate, and only after the accused makes their case to him directly. There is no real court of law. Either the case is brought up before the House, or it is brought up before the Grand Magistrate.
Slaves and undead minions are forbidden from entering the Palace. There will be NO exceptions.
Finally, the Dining area is open at all hours of the night, in case a visitor gets a craving, though not all menus and items are available.
