Go to
http://emulemorph.sourceforge.net/Go to the "download" link
Click on the "Installer" link
Click on "Morph #.# installer" where "#.#" is the current version
That should bring you to a Sourceforge download page. If you've never seen one before, what you have to do is simply choose a country and click "Download". if it doesn't work, pick another country.
After downloading, run the installer EXE
After installing and then running it for the first time, it should bring up a "Setup wizard" of sorts.
Important Steps:
Pick some alias for yourself
make emule connect at startup
choose two random numbers between 2000 and 65536 for the TCP and UDP ports (I'll tell more about these later in this article)
The rest of the options should probably be fine as-is, until
A network setting box should appear, try to pick the network bandwidth limits based on what you know about your internet service. For most high-speed connections, 16+ downloads is fine.
You may have to perform some steps here based on your network setup. IF you have a router, set up port-forwarding for the two ports you picked earlier. If you have a recent version Of WindowsXP (Win2k pwns XP, btw), you may want to go to "Options">"EmulEspana">"Enable Windows Connection Firewall support". This same options page also lets you activate the "UPNP" option for routers that use it.
Since you applied the "connect at startup" option AFTER starting up, on your first time you'll have to manually click the "connect" button (by the top-right).
Click the "log" tab on the bottom to see how well emule is connecting. Ideally, it should eventually connect to some server and say "Connected" on the info on the right-hand side. (If it also says "Low ID", you'll need to change your network or firewall setup or something to get rid of the LowID (see next point).
A LowID doesn't mean you can't download things, it just means that other emules can't easily connect to your ports. But you will have less priority on the queues of other emules when they send you file data.
The main buttons you'll want to look at now are "tools", "transfer", and "search".
"Tools">"Paste ED2K links" lets you input ed2k links from websites so that emule can start downloading the files they target.
"Transfers" is the page that shows a list of all your downloads and uploads.
"Search" lets you search for files you don't even have links to. I recommend the "Global servers" method. Also, the search syntax is probably unfamiliar, use the word NOT before the words you don't want. example: 'knoppix linux NOT std NOT knoppmyth'. There's also lots of useful fields for limiting your search, including Min/Max-Size, and file-type search. You probably want to often sort by availability, since more sources means faster, more reliable downloads.
Next, be patient. I've had files go for weeks without downloading an inch before someone started seeding it again.
If you feel confident, play with the options to your liking. Research them first if you're unsure.
