Product:: Naturelle's keraPRO Available at:: Sally Beauty Supply Price:: $10.99 each
In this review, I am touching up on a product called keraPRO made by Naturelle--a brand that specializes in recreating Loreal hair products. This review will include the Shampoo, Conditioner, and the Anti-frizz Elixer.
First, before touching on each individual product, I want to say that I am extremely picky in how a product smells when I use it. First thing I noticed about this brand is that musky-like smell. Not appealing to me at ALL, but it definitely isn't the worst I've ever smelled. Rating:: heart heart
SHAMPOO--For Dry to extremely Dry Hair The consistency is amazing. It's nice and thick, it's not very runny at all, and it glides through the hair easily. heart heart heart heart
That being said...
I color my hair, a lot. At least twice a month to keep up with the vibrant red I wear. With red being a color that fades the fastest, I like to avoid Shampoos with too much sulfate. I didn't even have to work a light massage and this shampoo lathered up like crazy! My red was bleeding straight from my hair and stained straight into my nails--not something I experience very often at all even with my regular high-lathering shampoo. If you color your hair, this is not a shampoo I would recommend. heart
However, if you don't color your hair, this shampoo does indeed moisturize like it should. heart heart heart heart
Overall:: heart heart heart
CONDITIONER--Normal to Dry Hair The consistency, while decent, is way too thick for me personally. It feels more like a mask treatment than a general hair conditioner. Because of this, and the design of the packaging, I had difficulties squeezing it out of the bottle. And had equal difficulty in spreading it through my hair. heart heart
The moisture was very "meh". I like my hair to feel immediately softer and healthier upon rinsing a conditioner out, and my hair actually felt rougher. I tried again at a later date with leaving the conditioner in longer, same results. Not very moisturizing, and very "blah" in doing what it's supposed to do. heart
Overall:: heart
STYLING--Anti-Frizz Elixer All I can say about this is NO! No, no, no, no, NO! For starters, the bottle recommends starting with a dime size amount--this would be no problem if this "elixer" didn't feel like jelly water. I ended up having to pour product back into the bottle in a runny oily mess. Not even worth a heart.
Did you catch that second adjective? Oily. Which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't all so demanding of the ingredient list. Ten ingredients--4 of these ingredients are hydrolized [[liquified]] keratin, Safflower seed oil, Rice oil, and Glucose [[I'm not kidding... there's liquid sugar in here]]. Listed above all these ingredients? Only three other ingredients are in higher quantity than these oils. Meaning this entire bottle is 50% oil, 40% s**t I can't pronounce [[one of which is an alkaline alcohol]], and 10% fragrance. But don't let that 10% fool you, it smells like molded soap. Again, not even deserving of a heart. I immediately shampooed this "elixer" right out as it was heavy and weighed down my short medium-textured hair into a limp and lifeless mess. It'll fight frizz, all right, it'll also fight against any hopes of body and volume no matter how many shaggy layers are cut into your hair. No Heart.
Overall:: NONE
OVERALL BRAND RATING:: heart heart and a half
