(Hooray alliteration)

This was pretty cool.

The snarky comments people left were not. Some of them seem to interpret "god" as a solely Abrahamic entity. It's weird.

That is pretty cool. Maybe the kami were protecting it, or something. The comments were pretty nasty...those people need a comparative religions class.

Of course, there were a lot of unique things that somehow survived the tsunami...My favorite being a statue of Kamen Rider (lit:Masked Rider AKA a Power Rangers-type hero).

That is pretty great. I like this comment from the article - "God must have protected it, although some people also helped to put the fire out, so it was not just divine intervention."

I would say that is divine intervention, but however people phrase it I like the idea that the gods and humans are working together to get through this and bring healing.

And also Kamen Rider. biggrin There's a theological point about modern mythology to be made somewhere in there, but I think for now I'll just note that it's cool. Whether it's divine intervention, coincidence, or somewhere in the middle, it's nice to have those symbols standing.

It's stuff like this that makes me feel justified in being Christian AND pluralist. That's so neat, and is really uplifting.

I think it's these little beacons that will give a lot of victims the hope and courage to move on. It's a really touching story.

...But yeah, I had to make a comment on the article. ><;;
