How To Train Your Pokemon
How to level your pokemon
Well, it actually quite simple. Every twelve posts, your Pokemon gains a level. In an area where your Pokemon's type resides, it only takes ten posts =P Also, look out while leveling, you might find a rare candy on the ground. Just post the code we give you, and keep a counter with your number of training posts. Like: 1/12, 1/10 etc. Every time you raise a level by posting, your training post count starts back at 1.
Whenever your pokemon reaches a new level, follow this formula:
Stats: Your pokemon stats are based off the Link so always keep you stats updated or ask me Masterharper of Pern to do it.
Happiness: Your pokemon gains 1 Happiness at each level up.
How to Catch Pokemon
Train post until a moderator posts a wild Pokemon. You chose one of the Pokemon on your party, and quote the wild Pokemon post. If you quote it first, battle it until it is at a decent health rate, then throw a Pokeball. The mod will decide if you catch it or not. Note however that a battle is not always nessicary. In some cases, a moderator will allow you to catch it if you befriend the pokemon. However, it is up to the staff as to whether or not you are successful in capturing the pokemon
Pokemon Stats
HP: This is critical. If your pokemon's HP is reduced to 0, it faints. Some abilities and held items trigger under specific conditions concerning HP
Attack/Special Attack/Effect Moves: Each pokemon move falls into one of three categories: Physical (Attack), Special (Sp. Attack), and Effect (moves like Swords Dance, Teleport, Haze, etc.) Effect moves do not inflict direct damage. Physical attacks are self explanditory, and special attacks are attacks that damage pokemon by means other than physical contact by both pokemon
Defense/Special Defense: Each defense applies to thier corresponding incomming attacks. Defense absorbs some of the damage inflicted by Physical attacks, while Special Defense absorbs some of the damage from non-physical attacks. However, neither provide any protection agianst Effect moves like Toxic. In the case of super-effective moves, these defenses are negated.
Ability: Every pokemon have different abilities. These abilities have thier own unique triggering circumstances, although some are a constant effect.
Happiness: This is how much your pokemon likes and trusts you. For every level, pokemon's happiness increases by 1
New Attacks for Your Pokemon:
In order for your pokemon to learn new attacks or to evolve, you MUST send one of the crew members a pm. Copy and paste your pokemon's current stats in your pm and tell us what it is you want to have done to your pokemon. Just remember, your pokemon can only have 4 moves at any time.
About Status Changing Attacks.
Some Pokemon can learn attacks that will alter the opponent's status. such as making them fall asleep, poisoned, etc.
Burn: The damage done by a burn each turn depends on your and Health. Add the level and health of the opponent Pokemon together, then divide it by six. That is the amount of damage the attack with do. Round down if needed.
Sleep: Random number 2-5, then that determines the number of turns the opponent Pokemon is asleep.
Paralysis: Roll a 10 sided dice, 1-3 you can attack, 4-10 you can't.
Poison: If your Pokemon is poisoned, your damage rate is 1/5 your Pokemon's level. In the case of Toxic, the initial damage is 1/5 your pokemon's level, and the damage doubles with each passing turn
Freeze: Random number 3-6, then that determines the number of turns the opponent Pokemon is frozen.
Confusion: Generate a random number 2-5. Half the damage of your weakest attack, your health drops for those turns.
Critical Hits
Landing a Critical Hit: Roll a ten-sided dice. 1-3 is a critical hit. Add half the attacks damage of the attack on top of it. you may only make one attempt for a critical per pokemon per battle. Note: If a move has a higher critical hit rate (Like Psycho Cut) then 1-5 is a critical hit.
Pokemon Evolution
High enough level? Thats great! Contact a Moderator of the guild. To evolve a Pokemon you MUST have a storage box.
Happiness- Minimum happiness require for evolutions based upon this stats is 12, and I will determine if you are active enough for your Pokemon to evolve. All pokemon's happiness starts at 1 upon capture and 5 if it is your starter. You gain 1 point of happiness per level. Also there are items to help boost your pokemon's happiness, though some come at a cost.
