OOC Info: This is only for Kuhli and Koi'Adoree to make their rites post. It is assumed their parents and the leaders are watching!
Most might be nervous about the rite that would mark them as adult members of the pride. Kuhli wasn't. He loved the ocean, and to him...she was something close to a best friend and Auntie, all rolled into one. His mother had done this, his father had done this...and now he and his sister would. He looked to his sister and grinned, then started into the water. The sand beneath his paws began to shift and give way to his bulkier form, but he was used to it and adjusted for it as he continued deeper into the ocean.
He got to a point where his paws no longer could touch the sand, and he swam out just a little further...then stopped, treading water and letting the waves come in around and over him. Finally, he turned and swam back to his family and the shore, giant grin on his face.
He'd been accepted by the ocean, and now he'd be considered all grown up!

Koi wasnt as confident about her abilities in the water like Kuhli. She watched him and gulped, swalling in an attempt to calm herself. She felt her heartbeating rapidly, and she was trying so hard to take deep breaths. She didnt like confrontation, and thats what this felt like. She was confronting the sea to see if it would allow her passage. It was so final should it decide not to. She stepped into the water, feeling the cool waves lap over her paws. She blinked, and then headed a bit further in. The water was up to her shoulders, crashing in waves over her head but she managed to push herself off the shore and swim. She padded a little ways out, before turning. When she turned a large wave rushed from behind and took her under. She wasnt under long, and soon she was pushing her way back to the shore. Once her feet were on land, she felt so relieved. Looking to her brother happily, she swayed her tail, and shook her body
to remove the excess water.
