 There! She thought to herself as she looked over her collection stash in her underwater lair. Like her father she usually lurked underwater when not spending time with her family or off finding something new to add to her collection. Glancing up to the water's surface, she flicked her tail, propelling herself upwards as she swam. Her head barely broke the surface as she glances about, brown curls sticking to her like loose weeds in the water. Bubbles came from her nose in a snicker as she took notice that her brother was no where in sight. Perhaps he'd finally gotten tired of her,doubtfully but maybe. Perhaps he was off trying to vainly woo an uninterested mare.
Finally, her head fully emerged from the pond as she made her way to the bank. As the water became shallow, she stopped just where the water could lap at her barrel beneath her. She was waiting, watching to see if she'd be disturbed by a family member before she went in search of yet another treasure.

Dayniel gave a bit of a sigh as he stood near the bank of a river. Once more he was left alone. It seemed rather strange but unlike other males, no one wanted to spend time with him. Had he done something to curse himself?
The stallion shook his head a bit thinking silently. No, a curse wasn't really possible, seeing as no one had been near enough to do it. Perhaps it was more a case that he was partially transparent during the day, or if not, when the sun reflected off of him others tended to squint and look away fast.
Fixing that as a reason in his mind, Dayniel put his muzzle to the water and took a drink, gazing down at the liquid below him. It only partially reflected him back, the image distorting as the sun shown almost through him. It was a small blessing that his organs were not showing at least.

She was sure footed with her steps as she followed the stream that fed her pond. The twoleggeds often lost objects near water sources.. whether it was because they were careless or simply didn't have any use for them any longer she didn't know.. she didn't care either. All she did know was that they often left the most interesting collectibles laying around. As she drew near to the river that fed the stream, she caught a glimpse of something glinting in the distance. Stopping her ears perked up and she waited, watching for a moment. What ever it was wasn't small.. but it was Shiny. How lovely.. had she stumbled upon something she'd have a challenge to take home? Bah! what ever this new object was it couldn't be left here alone.. not when her father might come and steal it away before her. She snorted at the thought of loosing something to her father that had caught her interest.
Stepping lightly, she checked to see if there were any foot prints left behind from a passing two-legger. Nothing.. how odd.. usually that was a tale tell sign of what had left the object in question. Drawing closer, she stopped a few times and waited, looking to make sure she wouldn't be caught in some one's net. She didn't trust the twoleggeds even if they did leave the best things laying around. Peering through the branches, she spotted just what the glinting object had been. It was a stallion. Not like any she'd seen either... He had hair for a tail, solid hooves and no fins or antlers... Peculiar...

Dayniel tossed his mane again, his eyes locked on something that only he could see. The reflection of the sun on the water, the sight of the clouds floating above, and his own barely precieveable reflection. Taking a step back into the shadows he gave a sigh of dismay.
"Another day, another boring day..." His voice was nearly as crystline as himself. It had a ringing timber like chimes of bells. He looked around hearing a crack of a hoof, or foot upon something and backed up a bit. He was far too wary of what happened when others came across him. The words of scorn, comments that cut to the soul. So many took his lack of expression as a sign that he was dull or slow. Never did they think that perhaps it was hard for him to change expressions.
Part of him did wonder if he was as cold as they said, but that was the part that later bled for the hurt of it all.
It was while looking though, that he noticed water like colors where they should not be. He tipped his head in curiosity and waited to see what was coming.

Stepping closer, she made herself visible the look of interest visible. It wasn't that she was rude or wanted to make him feel awkward, is was more along the lines of him being something new, different, intriguing. "Why hello there Shiny." She gave a small smile of sorts that wasn't warm nor was it cold. She didn't often smile for her sharp teeth was often something her mother had said turned her grandparents to despise her and her brother. To hell with them any how they hadn't wanted much to do with her or her family but her mother and father got along well in their own strange way and she knew they both loved their foals in their way. She stopped a fair distance from the stallion and watched him, admiring the shininess that was his coat. How fascinating.. he was even slightly see through. If this was just a statue she'd have tried to abscond with it the moment she saw it.. but he wasn't.. he was a living, breathing and speaking stallion.

Dayniel gave a bit of a startled jump when he noticed that the thing coming to him was another soquilli. He had never seen one like her, then again he never saw one quite like himself either, so that wasn't such an odd thing.
Dayniel returned the smile that he saw though, not at all caring what one's teeth were like. He was just as odd at times so he didn't often look closely at others. If he did, he often just saw his own faults reflected back. "Uh, hi, um, I'm not Shiny though, that may be someone else. I am Dayniel, or Day for short."
He shifted a little and glanced again at the water, seeing himself looking back, the same shock in his eyes there. He was awake, he knew it because when he slept he never saw himself. It was odd but it was like him.
Day turned to look completely at the female, doing a kind of bow. "I am pleased to meet you though. I can help you look for this 'Shiny' that you are seeking if you wish.

She gave a light laugh. He thought shiny was some one's name? how fabulously entertaining. "No.. I was calling you shiny because that's what drew me hear.. the sun glinting off you like a shiny object.. at first I had thought one of the twolegged left something out here and it had caught the light. They often leave the most wondrous things you know." She eyed his appearance, fascinated by it. he looked like a stone she had tucked away in her lair at the bottom of the pond... only... he was a living breathing soquili not some hard lifeless piece of rock. "It's nice to meet you day, I'm Enakai, Ena for short.. but I prefer only my close friends and family call me that so Enakai will suffice till we get to know one another...... You're quite the interesting sort.. are there other normals like you?? All shiny and shimmery?" She drew closer to him, eying him with a look she often gave something she was settling her mind to trying to keep as her own, a new addition to her collection.. but one couldn't collect another soquili.... or could they?

Day bowed his head "Pleasure Ena.. others like me?" He thought hard about her question of if others were like him and then gave a very slight nod. "Well, I know of Pyrite, he shimmers and is made of.. some kind of amethyst and something else." He shrugged a little. "But I am the only like.. well like me I guess, since I am the only me."
He looked at the female a bit closer. "Then again, I have not met one like you either." His lips twitched, though he was not able to pull off a full smile. "Your tail is unique, so far as I know." He took a hesitant step forward to look closer at the one that had, in her way, found him.
His eyes held questions that he was not able to ask, so all he did was shake his mane again, letting the hair fall out of his eyes as he glanced again at the water. "Did you plan to meet my cousin then? I can not be near him but I can direct you in how to find him."

" Oh so there are other shiny soquili out there.. I see.. How fascinating..." She let it slide this time that he's just called her Ena rather than her full name. Though she still had a slight issue with his familiarity.
" My tail? I get that from my father... He's a Kelpie... A water soquili. She grinned wide showing that she has sharp teeth too, yet another trait she got from her father." Her ears gave a light flick. "I'm only half though.. So I have my mother's cloven hooves.. she's a cerynei, they look kind of deer like."
She looked at him, not realising he's been giving her that curious, questioning look. She was more interested in him the more they spoke. but then he mentioned a cousin? "Your cousin? No.. I don't think I had.. I was only out looking for interesting things left behind by the two-legged. You know.. shiny things.. useful things.. odd things.."

Dayniel had never been around other kinds of soquili before, so his knowledge of them really ran shallow. He had met a kalona but had no idea that was what they were called. The meeting though left him feeling like his life was in danger and he was not planning to have to go near one again.
Looking over the female part of his mind warned him that there could be danger near, but she didn't seem like she planned to hurt him. He would just have to go with how things turned out before making a snap decision on her. It was the only fair thing to do.
"I am not surprised really, my cousin, he flutters around on the strange wings he has and kind of flits about like there are clouds in his head. He is nice though." Day shook his head a little then focused in on what the other had said about two leggers.
"They leave useful things.. things that shine. Perhaps that is what I saw on my way here. There was a little bit of shining stuff. It had funny jagged parts on it. I don't know what it would be for." He tried to picture the item in his mind. Slender, metallic and with jagged parts on one side. It must have had a point to it.

She brightened at the prospect of something else to add to her collection. " Oh? Do you think you could show me this item?? I've been forming a collection of sorts...." She snickered some. "So your cousin has wings... Fascinating and you did not get them?" It was possible she guessed.. even her brother didn't have the same traits she and her father shared. No, Vis had mother's fluffy deer like tail and antlers. " Though I have to admit... you are far a more... interesting glimmer to you than any of the shinies I've got in my collection.."
