Source: First plot details on Stargate Universe‘s final episodes!Quote: Saturday - April 23, 2011 by Darren Sumner SPOILER ALERT: MODERATEWith the days winding down to the final episodes of Stargate Universe, new details are emerging on the storylines for those last hours of Stargate for the foreseeable future. Turn back now if you aren’t the spoilerin’ type. SPACE Channel in Canada has released these short loglines for the final episodes, which help fill out the picture of the drone weapons’ continuing threat to Destiny. EPILOGUE (April 25) Returning the settlers to their home planet Novus, the Destiny crew discover the planet has been abandoned and on the verge of seismic destruction. BLOCKADE (May 2) Alien drones create a blockade of viable power sources forcing Destiny to recharge in a star so hot it could destroy the ship. GAUNTLET (May 9 – Series Finale) Blocked by Command Ships at every star and unable to gate for supplies without alerting the drones, Destiny must take a stand or be left adrift. SGU continues Monday at 9/8c on Syfy with “Epilogue,” which picks up right where last week’s episode left off. Are there any survivors on the planet Novus? What will we do with a ship full of refugees? Episodes air Tuesdays at 10 E/P on SPACE in Canada, Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on SCI FI in Australia, and Mondays at 8 p.m. on Sky1 in the U.K. (about one month delayed). Learn more about these episodes in GateWorld’s Season Two episode guide.

I'm actually really interested in this Novus world for some reason. Going to have to watch this Monday's episode. Of course, Sanctuary has been moved to the ten o'clock slot right after SGU so I get to watch that too ;p
One question though: Who builds a city on a fault line and thinks that's a good idea? These people got pretty advanced. You'd think with all that advanced tech someone could have come up with a way to move the city to safer ground. Or, if it's a case of fault lines everywhere, at least to a place less volatile. That preview gave me the idea this big city is right in the damn middle of it and that just made me facepalm a little bit..

They mention in the previous episode that it might have been a super volcano that went off. Not much you can do about that since those a quite large. Then again LA sits on a freaking fault line, so I guess we aren't that smart after all. Also with the way they were talking about the "religion" division I would think that there was more than one city, as I do remember them saying that both sides had nukes.

Yeah, I figured that after I typed that but still...logical sense is a little confused at that. Then another thing, I wonder if advanced meant they had things like space ships or whatever. You have a super volcano on your planet, and I'm sure they'd have noticed, then I'd take the chance to leave this planet and go somewhere else. I'm doing a lot of speculation here I know, but I hope they don't handwave this because it's getting near to the end. Also, I know about the two cities, though didn't think maybe they didn't move because the other civilization was in the way. Hmm...might be a cause why they couldn't leave too, if they tried. Aww. I feel sorry for these people now .___.

From what I could tell or at least to me they seem to be on the same tech level that we are, just without the advance space flight providing by our Daeduls class ships and other things we picked up along the way.

An Earth doomsday analogy then? There's nothing wrong with that, it's just sometimes I wish the "alien" didn't always relate in any way, shape, or form to us humans. It's hard to explain =/

Na I get what your saying, Stargate has never feeling had a true "alien" in the common science fiction sense. I just wish that the show would have had a bigger baddie to go out on, instead of a rehased replicator like enemy.

Technically I can't say this about Novus since it is in fact us, but the general thought still stands :3 I have a feeling it was due to the time crunch since they did introduce us to certainly non-human alien species before. It is sad it has to end this way.

They had the blue aliens who seemed to be a torn in our side for the longest. They want the Destiny so bad, and they did things to Chole to get a "spy?" on board, then after that one episode where they "fix" Chole we haven't seen them sense then. Other then the blue aliens, the only "living" baddie that's attacked the ship was the LA. I know the show is all about the Destiny, but I would have like to have seen that attack on Earth that we kept hearing about. I don't consider that "attack" on the Pentagon in episode 2.13 Alliances as the real attack. The LA has a much bigger fleet than that. I guess they had to figure something out to bring the season to an end but leave an opening for more later. -sigh- I hate when good show's get canceled b/c of antiquated rating systems...
