Format of a Haiku:

A Haiku consist of 5, 7 and 5 syllables in three units.

Line one, five syllables
Line two, seven syllables
Line three, five syllables

What this contest is:

This contest will be weekly. There is a picture below, what you must do is write a Haiku inspired by the image and post it in this thread. Every Sunday the picture will switch and that weeks contest will start, it will end Friday and a poll to decide the winner will be made. The poll will end Sunday. Every week a 1k prize will be given to the winner.

LAST weeks picture:

A cold,distant wind
Brushes past the grandmother tree,
Autumn's fallen leaves.

Pieces of the sun,
Flames snuffed out by the cruel wind,
Autumn leaves lie still.

Well I ish to late for this round....

Lavender petals
weighted with morning's first dew
in prelude to day.

Please gentle flower
stain not thy petals with tears.
Cheer up; the sun's out.

The heavens break up.
Apollo lets his rain fall
through the azure gap.

Circles of the clouds
Back away from the bright glare
The sun has returned.
