Odyssey was sweeping up the front room, from the chaos it usually was it was now a great deal cleaner. They had settled in quite nicely. She was quite obviously waiting on someone to come into the shop, it was obvious by the way she kept checking a large sand hourglass on one of the shelves. Somehow she could tell what time it was or at least approximate the time.
She had called upon Antigra not too long ago. She hoped the woman was not caught up on something.

The entire street was pouring rain. Antigra Crane loved most weather. Hell, even snow. She rather liked snow. But rain?
It was almost offensive.
She whipped out an unusual umbrella and clip-clopped down the street. Several peoples' eyes stared at her cloven hooves, but she didn't really mind all that much. She wasn't exactly able to buy herself shoes.
But going beyond the furry goat's feet, she wasn't particularly goatlike at all. An average-seeming human, save for the inky-black stripe tattoos all over her body, and the twisted, tortured pair of horns poking up from between the locks of spiky red hair. Her long devil's tail curled through the air behind her, poking out from beneath a crimson skirt. Wings jutted from a fashionable red top. The slitted eyes that peeked from behind a pair of glasses were as red as the rest of her outfit. So she was a lesser demon; that really wasn't too much to get worked up over.
The eyes flickered over to read the sign hanging above a door. Xanthian Internal Affair... this was the shop she'd been directed to. Taking care to fold her strange umbrella back up and shake it out, she dashed into the place.
"So sorry I'm late. Terrible weather makes travel nearly impossible," Antigra drawled out.

Odyssey looked up from her sweeping to witness the form of Antigra coming through. There was barely a reaction across her face except for a welcoming grin, "Are you Miss Crane?"
The blonde had settled down considerably now a days, and she was no longer trying to pounce people upon entry and she was trying her hardest to not be so annoying as Humfrey Two claimed she was.
"Glad my directions didn't get you lost. I am still trying to get used to my surroundings here in Gaia." She was mildly fretting as she moved to lean her broom against a blank spot on the wall, "If you would follow me to the counter so that we can have a talk, want something warm to drink? Seems to be miserable weather out." Odyssey said as she then began to move behind her usual spot behind the counter.

"Yes, I am Miss Crane." The lesser demon's tail flicked from side to side along the floor. "I don't suppose you were named at your conception?"
With dainty steps for such unwieldy feet, Antigra picked her way to the counter. She reached up a clawed hand to adjust her glasses.
"I managed but just barely, my dear. You needn't worry; I don't trust food and drink from strangers. My enemies will take any opportunity." Her ears twitched, and she smiled at the Xanthian like a cat about to eat a wounded bird.

Odyssey faltered a little, her stride was derailed and quite easily so, "I..Er..Oh, yes, of course I was! I am Odyssey Aeronall." The blonde reached up and tugged at a strand of blonde hair for a moment as she got behind the counter having stopped a moment to digest what was said to her after the intial greeting.
"I understand..I guess," She replied in a sort of a vague confused sort of way. The blonde was totally unsure on how to deal with Antigra, "Here for that ring right?" This expirence was unlike the other first few.

Antigra examined her claws for a moment, before looking up at Odyssey. "Charming name. Reminds me of a very gory Greek fairy tale."
She folded her arms and leaned over to place the elbows on the counter, effectively breaching Odyssey's bubble of personal space. "I don't recall being told about a ring... but I'll take a look at it. It must be quite exotic. Normally, jewelers come to me, instead of I to them. There must be some catch to this trinket, however... I can smell the reek of magic on everything in this store, even you."

Odyssey chose not to dignify the comment about her name with a response and merely rubbed a slender hand across the counter top as if sweeping away imaginary dust. She found it impossible to get close to Antigra as the lesser demon seemed so abrasive.
"Oh? Well yes, of course." She brought out the ring and laid it out on the counter, "I..well...Everything is magic where I come from. This ring here was once a person..The only catch is that you have to raise him from childhood on if you choose to take the ring.."
Antigra made Odyssey mildly uncomfortable and that was only because she was not used to dealing with people like lesser demons just yet.

"Sounds fascinating..." Antigra picked up the ring between two fingers and surveyed it from behind her lenses. There was no doubt about its magical potency - but along with it, she sensed faraway blood spilled. It was perfect.
Glancing over the ring, between its two prominent bat wings, she met Odyssey's eyes. "Then I congratulate you on your luck. Most of the creatures in this world are utterly without magic at all. Such cruel lives they have."
Again, she grinned her terrible grin, this time her absurdly sharp canine teeth twinkling. With several quick motions of her clawed hands, the ring was safely tucked into her purse.
"I'll see to it that this, ah, child has a home worthy of its magical abilities. Is there anything already known about this person's original life?"

Odyssey paused for a moment and then shrugged, "Something about wanting to start a new life due to the death of his wife and child, but for some reason I do not think that is a truth." Her tone was sort of deadpan, which was mildly unusual for someone of her demeanor. Something in Antigra was obviously bringing that out, "If he remembers it maybe he'll share it with you, but I don't think he'll remember everything right away after he is .. reborn."
Humfrey Two bustled from the backroom holding a large journal in his hand, "If she's gon' take the accursed thing she may as well 'ave this." The man was short, and gnomish looking with a prominent nose and wearing a skullcap of sort. Obviously he lacked fashion sense and thus dressed in drab clothing that would otherwise mark him as a scholar. No need for flare in his line of work, none at all.

She would have to probe the ring later to see if that was indeed the spilled blood that she noticed marked the ring, but for now she would just smile and nod. "I'll be sure to ask him when he knows."
Upon seeing the short man enter the room, the lesser demon clasped her hands together in false reverence. She glanced at the rapidly faltering young woman across the counter. "Odyssey, darling, you didn't tell me you were married!"
She drew away from the high-tension area between herself and Odyssey, and easily snatched the journal from the grumpy scholar's hands. It had excellent craftsmanship, but was otherwise as drab as the short man who'd created it. Replacable, Antigra thought wryly, or at the very least I could have it decorated.

Odyssey's eyes widened at the mere suggestion of her and Humfrey being married, she just shook her head.
Humfrey Two, however, made no gesturely but only snorted, "If she and I were married ... There would be death and destruction everywhere." He shrugged idly, "Nice spunk y'got there, but I'm busy so feel free to torture Odyssey." With that he merely disappeared into the backroom.
Odyssey glared after the short man and sighed looking at Antigra again, "That journal is also magicked. It'll let you know when we have an antidote-potion ready for the ring to turn back to human. It is also helpful to record events and journal entries for you and the umm.. Child."
She then took out a slip of paper that looked like a certificate, "D..Do you have a name for him?"

Antigra chuckled darkly as the man left, then turned her attention back to the nervous shopkeep. "Journals are dangerous. You never know who could be reading them... but I will allow my child to write in his, for your pitiful sake."
She pondered the second question a moment, then snapped her fingers. "I have the perfect name! Mosrael... the Waker." She brought out from her purse a small bell, being sure to hold her thumb tightly inside it to still it from ringing. "They look harmless, but the danger they create is unimaginable."

Odyssey raised an eyebrow and shrugged, "No one should be able to read the journal unless you put it somewhere obvious and it can be found." The blonde replied somewhat curtly. She had a bite when she wanted to have one.
Then she made out the certificate and handed it to Antigra, "I'll take your word on that, Miss Crane. If you have questions of us then please ask now or call us. Whichever you like. Otherwise you are free to go." Despite all that happened Oddy was trying her hardest to remain friendly to the lesser demon.

"You learn quickly, Odyssey!" smiled Antigra.
She returned the necromancer's bell to the special comparment of her purse. Curtly, she turned and left, simultaneously opening her umbrella. The rain had only worsened outside, and she'd need it.

It seemed to have been quite a while since Antigra's cloven hooves tapped through the doorway of the Xanthian Internal Affairs bureau. Simply put, she was excited. This was her chance! Finally! However, her expression didn't betray her. It stayed coolly calm, with the barest hint of a pair of fangs in her thin smile.
In her hands she held aloft the folded pile of silks and the scattering of strange toys that lay atop it. The ring was there, too, its eye-like red jewel glimmering. Everything she had been told to do was fulfilled. Now she would have to wait on the bumbling blonde and hope that there were no mistakes.
