Lillend is a popular video game world-wide that has captivated many people, young and old. It is one of the first expansive virtual reality games of it's kind. While most virtual reality was set to replicate the real world, Lillend was the first to create an entirely new world to play in.
While the setting of the game isn't based off reality, the way the system is set up is the same as any other virtual reality game.
When the game is bought, it comes with a standard virtual reality headset and a memory card with the game on it. The memory card is to be inserted into the headset. Once the headset is activated, the player will be plunged into the world of Lillend.
All senses can be felt whilst plunged, except pain. Due to the fact that this game exceeds normal human boundaries, the experience of pain had to be left out. Otherwise, the person in the real world might actually die when their character dies in-game.

The World of Lillend Lillend is set to be an adventure/RPG type of game. The players can go on many adventures or quests, or even treasure hunting. There are even players who like to 'player kill'. How the game is played is up to the player. There is no wrong or right way to play. However, illegal mods and hacks done to the game are strictly prohibited. Anyone caught modding or hacking (whether it be their character's appearance or special items, etc), will be forever banned from online play. VerisLillend is a continent on the planet Veris. Veris was colonized around 200 years ago, so the world is still fairly new and there are parts of it still unexplored. Only the continent of Lillend has been colonized. The rest of the continents of this planet are still too dangerous and and wild to live in. Players of the game are slowly and surely colonizing the rest of the planet, by helping clear away monster dens and clearing out dungeons. As an incentive to help colonize the planet, various NPCs are placed throughout Lillend that give out quests with nice rewards. The harder the quest, the greater the reward. The quests and rewards are never the same, therefore each quest and reward is unique. The rewards from quests are valuable, and are one-of-a-kind. If sold, they can fetch a high price. While the game is supposed to be highly realistic, there are some elements included that are normal in video games. Although there are no 'save points', there are warp areas that allow you to move more quickly throughout the world. These warp areas are also the points where you log in and out. Players cannot log out unless they are at a warp area. When logging in, players will always start out at a warp area. These warp areas are exclusive to Veris, and more exclusively to Lillend. If a player wishes to leave the continent Lillend, then they must take alternate means of transportation. GamasGamas is the mother planet to the colony on Veris. They often send ships with supplies and other such things needed. Often the supply ships carry items not found on Veris. Not only that, the ships take items found exclusively on Veris, back to Gamas. All players, as they enter the game for the very first time, start out on a shuttle ship heading to Veris. The only time the players will see Gamas is for this very first scene. Otherwise, there is no transportation back to Gamas that is available to players. All supply ships are run by NPCs and it is impossible to sneak aboard one, as the game's coding will not allow it. However, there are rare and special occasions where a select few will be able to travel to Gamas for a short period of time. It is rumored that compared to Veris, Gamas is much more magnificent and urbanized. There are items available at Gamas that are not found anywhere else, with very unique abilities and techniques. At this moment, no one has such rare items from Gamas, so thus they are currently only rumors. The Real World/Earth Back in reality, Earth is booming and has advanced quite far, technology-wise. The year is now 3068, and the Earth has never been better. Technology and transportation are now more environmentally friendly, so that humans can work together with the Earth, instead of eventually destroying it. It did take a lot of work to undo the damage done by previous generations, but in the end it paid off. Mostly everything can be done digitally, and there are ways to make digital things a reality. There are digital stores where you can buy clothes/accessories and wear them as if they were actually real. The same can also be done of books, toys, purses, briefcases, and various other everyday objects. Not only that, but memories can be stored digitally through certain technologic advances. They can be accessed later by anyone who knows where to find them, and can even be password protected. Money has also gone digital. There is only one type of currency, as it's a universal currency recognized by all countries. This currency is known as credits. There are anti-theft programs in place for each account, so foreign access is easily denied. The most popular digital occurrence, though, will have to be the virtual reality games. There are various virtual games out there, and each of them have a varying type of reality. Lillend is considered a type-three virtual reality game. The other two types are more realistic in their settings in that it could easily be mistaken for the real world if you're not careful. Earth's Colonies As technology on Earth advanced, so did space travel and the ability to colonize other planets. There are few colonies on the planets near Earth, but the bigger, more self-sustaining colonies are ones in other solar systems and galaxies. Various countries on Earth control their own colonies, and able to help the colony, as well as profit from them. The bigger countries control more colonies than other, smaller countries, of course. They take advantage of the natural resources found at their colonies, and make use of it back on Earth. Of course, each colony tries to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and tries not to harm the planet in any way. If they do, they will try to correct it quickly. CryslaHistory: Crysla is a rather large colony located on the planet Gliese. Since Gliese is similar to Earth (only 10 times bigger), colonies here don't need to be inside a habitat. There are plants and trees and grass growing, that have been transplanted from Earth, to help make the planet more habitable. The colony is slowly but surely growing. Mother Country: Russia Location: Gliese U.S. Titan 5History: Titan 5 is one of several large habitats built and colonized on Saturn's moon, Titan. The fifth, and smallest of the U.S. Colonies, Titan 5 is known for its liberal thinkers and pseudo-scientists. It has a reputation for quacks who like to give their kids weird names that have supposedly philosophical meanings. Mother country: United States Location: Titan MelasHistory: One of the earliest extra terrestrial colonies, Melas has since grown extremely large and sprawled significantly across the mostly terraformed martian surface. It's well known for having vast industrial complexes, as the pollution laws are significantly more lax there than on Earth. Mother country: United States Location: Mars, near the Melas Chasma If you want to make your own colony, post up a small profile of it in the OoC and it will be added here. Colony Name: History: Mother country: (the country the controls it) Location:

Character Classes Unisex GunslingerAs the name suggests, this character classes relies solely on guns. The type of gun(s) used is up to the player, as there are many different types. Guns in this game are fairly advanced. They advanced along with the rest of the world. More guns are automatic, sleeker, more efficient, and more precise. Of course, this all depends on the person using the gun and if they're able to handle it properly. Advantages: Long-range, versatile, does not require a lot of strength. Disadvantages: Reload times (on certain guns), expensive upkeep, some monsters/enemies immune to bullets. BeserkerThis class is a tribute to the old-school video games. They rely on brute strength for any ordeal. Will take to breaking down a door, rather than picking locks. The Beserker's weapon of choice would be just about any two-handed melee weapon they can get their hands on, or around. Advantages: Has immense strength to back up any boast. Out of all classes, the Beserkers can take the most damage. Disadvantages: Slow attacks leave the Beserker vulnerable. Low defensive abilities. Life is always at a risk in every fight, having to be in melee range of the target. Rune MasterThis class relies on runes and glyphs to perform magic. The type of magic they can do is completely different from the Magi class or any of the Mancer classes. They have to be precise, specific, and near perfect in order to pull off spells, especially higher level spells. There is no end to what kind of spells Rune Master can do, as long as they are able to properly write out the sequence in either runes or glyphs. This class has to be the most meticulous one, seeing as they must memorize both runes and glyphs, as well as their proper sequence. Not only that, they have to be able to write them out, as well. (Other classes can write runes/glyphs, but only Rune Masters can make them do anything). Advantages: Diverse spell types, both offensive and defensive, inexpensive upkeep, Disadvantages: Tons of memorization, slow cast rates, incapable of decent melee Modica MagiThe Modica Magi, or component mages, are mages that work with limited resources at their disposal. These mages do not have inherent magic. Instead, they specialize in using the powers found in the world around them. They need to stock up on components before a fight, and need to keep a vast supply handy. Advantages: Ability to use high-level magic, both melee and long-ranged, can work all elements of magic. Disadvantages: Must keep their components stocked at all times, spells take longer preparation, must plan ahead of time, weakest class in physical combat. HolosinThe Holosin is a class that relies on both technology and their knowledge. They prefer to strategize and minimize danger. They are similar to the Gunslinger in that they use distance to their advantage and to their enemy's disadvantage. In addition to advanced weaponry, they can also interface with holodiscs found or bought throughout the world. They can use just about any type of technological weapon, though they tend to use smaller, easy to carry weapons, rather than bigger, easier to kill weapons. They can use guns, electronic bows, and even laser swords, or gun swords. Advantages: They are the only class able to access holodiscs, (by default), long-range weaponry, strategists, quick on their feet in the face of danger. Disadvantages: Expensive upkeep, without their gear they are the weakest class, some monsters are immune or can interfere with their equipment/weapons. Female GenimancerThe Genimancer class is a female only class. They are the closest to nature and natural magic. Higher level Genimancers are able to have an animal companion (as well as the ability to talk to it). The only magic they are able to do pertains to controlling (and eventually becoming) certain animals. However, the Genimancer class is very good at being aware of their surroundings and using animals for their eyes and ears, making them the perfect scouts. They tend to use staves and electronic bows, laser glaives, or even self-made slingshots. Advantages: Only class that has an animal companion; they make perfect scouts; inexpensive upkeep Disadvantages: Limited in use; doesn't do well solo Male AlomancerThe Alomancer class is a male only class. Alomancers are the healers and supporters of the game. They are essential to making a party (although not a requirement, it's usually a good idea to take one along). Not only can they heal others (and themselves), they can also buff players and debuff enemies. They tend to use staves and electronic bows, laser glaives, or even self-made slingshots. Advantages: Only healer/buffer class; great support; inexpensive upkeep; excellent defense Disadvantages: Doesn't do well solo; poor offense

Monster Classes BeastsBeast-class type monsters are basically mutated animals that have a tendency to attack humans that stray into their territory. They even raid small encampments if they come across one. These beasts are very territorial and will defend their territory to the death. This class can be further divided into subclasses, known as Scavenger, Avian, and Aquatic. Scavengers are the land-type beast-class monsters, and vary in form, size, looks, and behavior. This type tends to be the most territorial, and causes the most trouble for adventurers and travelers that are traveling by foot. These also tend to live in dungeons, as they are attracted to the archaic magic that encompasses them. Avians are the flying-type beast-class monsters, and vary in form, size, looks, and behavior. This type is usually not very socialable, so the only time you will come across these is if you either see them flying off in the distance, or you accidentally come across one of their nests. If you do come across it's nest, and it's nearby, it will attack. Aquatics are the sea-type beast-class monsters, and vary in form, size, looks, and behavior. This type is especially trouble for boats and fishermen, and can cause serious damage or even completely shipwreck ships.

Cities Each of the big cities in the game have warp areas, where the player can log in, log out, and warp to other warp gates. Some of the bigger areas outside of the city also have warp gates, but for most of the unexplored areas, you have to get there on foot. There is only one warp gate per city, and is usually the point of congregation of many adventurers. EverfireEverfire is the main city of the game. Being the capitol city, it has practically everything you need for going out on adventures, or even just to hang out and have a good time with your friends. However, things in this city are more expensive than in other cities because of high demand and easy access. Not including the various supply stores for adventurers, there are also a few bars, inns, and entertainment centers. Of course, to create the illusion of this being an actual city, there are plenty of residential areas with NPC families and people and even stray pets. This city is more high-classed and industrialized than the others. It's obvious in it's state-of-the-art architecture of practically all the buildings. Even the technology and transportation around the city is very up to date and high-tech. ValemarkValemark is the main port city, where travelers and adventurers can catch boats to nearby islands or even other continents. The same as Everfire, Valemark does have supply stores for adventurers, though not as many nor as expensive. They have at least one each type of store. Plus, they do have their own fish market, and a few seafood restaurants run by NPCs. This city is also quite advanced and industrialized, just not as much as Everfire. There are a few things that are done classically, but with a technologic update, such as the docks and the ships. The inns here aren't as expensive, and they have a more homey feel than any other inn nearby. Westron TowersWestron Towers is a fort town, built on the edge of a warring zone between monsters. This town was built to keep the war from progressing further inland and keep it away from the other cities. Here, you can take up a job (temporary) as a watch guard or a scout. This town doesn't have supply stores. Instead, they have a warehouse where they store weapons and supplies for the soldiers on duty. If you pay enough, you might be able to buy directly from the warehouse (if you really needed to). It's not very high-tech concerning it's buildings, as it was built with the fact in mind that they might have to relocate to a more suitable location later on. However, they are high-tech when it comes to weaponry and defenses. AstiaAstia is an island city off the coast of Lillend. The only way to get to it is by boat from Valemark, as it doesn't have a warp gate. This is a city meant for people to be able to 'vacation' and take a break from adventuring, questing, or even real life. They do have a resort, and a beach, as well as other fun activities and mini-games. The island is completely free of monsters, same for the surrounding waters. This is due to a high-class spell cast and maintained by a few of the city's NPC Magi.

Dungeons Dungeons are spread out all over the world, some bigger than others, and some harder. There are three types of dungeons: Forest, Cave, and Abandoned Buildings. Each type of dungeon offers different experiences, but each has a reward of treasure upon completing it. The size and rarity of the treasure depends on the size and difficulty of the dungeon. Monsters tend to gather in dungeon areas, so dungeons are dangerous. Not to mention the fact that some may be booby trapped to prevent outsiders from getting to the treasure. No one knows for sure why the dungeons exist. However, there is speculation that these are left over from the previous civilization that lived here, and that since they couldn't take all of their treasure with them, they set up dungeons to make it difficult/impossible for anyone to take it before they could come back to claim it.

Items/Weapons/Technology Holodiscs: Holodiscs are advanced technology that only Holosins (with a few exceptions) are able to use and read. They are minuscule discs that contain a load of information about the world around them. There can be holodiscs of anything and anyone, practically. It's good to use these items to your advantage when gathering information on someone or some place. These discs also contain knowledge not found elsewhere, and if you know the right people, you can even get a disc about a specific player in the game, that shows their past game activity. Guns: Guns aren't produced here, but are shipped here from Gamas. You'll only be able to find a gun shop, not a gunsmith. (If you do find one, it's a fraud). There are various types of guns, all with different types of makes and creators. The best creator for guns shipped to Gamas is Drenna Littler. A Littler gun is the best gun money can buy, but it's also the most expensive. Not to mention the expensive ammo. For players just starting out, the Heng guns are the best to use. They have an all-around purpose, are generally cheap, and have cheap ammo. Of course, there are other types of guns made by other creators, but these two are the most well-known. Swords: Swords are created here in Veris, since there's no use for them in Gamas. Different sword smiths have different types of swords, as well as different quality. Each sword smith is unique, so it's your job to find a smith that suits your needs. Rune Books: These can be found at magic stores. Rune Masters read these to gain skills and more runes to use with their attacks/defense. These are pretty straight-forward, and can be resold after you're done with it. There is a catch, though, in that you can only read/understand rune books that pertain to your level or lower. If you read a high-class rune book, and you aren't that level yet, you won't be able to understand/grasp it due to the mechanics of the game. Magic Components: These can also be found at a magic store. These components are useful only to Modica Magi (though other players can find these while off on quests and sell them to a magic store for extra money). Examples of components would be animal parts, monster parts, herbs, plants, and certain chemicals. Combine these before hand to make spells in a bottle, or combine them on-site for a bigger reaction. Keep in mind, though, that combining them does take time, so if you do it on-site, it's best to have someone else defending you while you do as such. Electronic Bows: These bows are similar to style of the old-school bows, and can come in either bow or crossbow form. These bows are made of metal, and can be folded upon itself to make it easier to carry around. The type of ammo depends on the type of bow, but they can either shoot metal arrows/bolts, or can even shoot out energy bolts/arrows. These can be found inside gun shops as well. Staves: The staff is an old-school weapon, used mostly by either of the "mancer" type classes. All staves are spelled/blessed by skilled Magi to help enhance magical power. Different types of staves enhance different types of power, in different ways. These can be found inside magic stores. Lyra: Lyra is the currency left behind by the civilization that had lived here before them. Most treasures in dungeons are piles or chests of Lyras. You're able to exchange Lyras for Creds at any of the main towns in the exchange. Creds: Creds are the world-wide currency for both Veris and Gamas. It's a universal currency, and is completely digital. There are fail-safes and anti-theft programs in place to prevent anyone from stealing your Creds without the proper authentication or identification. Tattoos: Tattoos can only be gotten in-game, not during character creation. Rune Masters often get them to give them a quick advantage in battle. If a Rune Master gets one of certain runes/glyphs, and a Rune Master is the one inscribing the tattoo, the player will be able to use the tattoo for a quick self-buff spell. Other players can also get tattoos, but they won't be advantageous to anyone but Rune Masters. For any other character, they'd just look pretty. However, they are rather expensive, so they're not all that common outside of the Rune Master class.

Parties Players have the ability to form groups, or "parties" when off doing quests or clearing dungeons. There are a few perks and downsides to being in a party. There are some dungeons or quests that require you to form a party, but otherwise forming one is completely optional. This game can be done solo, if need be, but it's best experienced while playing with others. Pros: There is almost always strength in numbers, meaning it will be easier to go against the stronger monsters and easier to clear the more difficult dungeons. Your character gains experience from what the other party members do and kill. However, it's often frowned upon to not do anything but stand nearby just so you can get easy experience. Such an act is called "Leeching". Cons: You have to share any loot/treasure you find with everyone in the party evenly. (This is mandatory and is forced by the game. It can't be controlled by playable characters.)
