So, I haven't done any text-based role play in quite a long while. Various reasons for this include limited internet access, business in real life, and a slight decline in my interest in role play to begin with. However, I feel it's time for me to jump back on-scene with an idea for a brand new role play.
It will be Stargate-themed, taking place after Destiny's return to Earth. (This means that Atlantis is also on Earth.) The SGC will have relocated to Atlantis, while Cheyenne Mountain is being kept as a back-up, with Earth's original stargate located there. Players can be any of the surviving characters from the shows, or they can construct an original character of their own creation.
The plot: A new threat to Earth, without being too specific. Finally, we get to see all of our favorite characters work side-by-side to accomplish a common goal.
Please, let me know what you think, and whether or not you're interested in trying it out. If there is enough interest (say 2-3 people besides myself), I will go ahead and create a separate thread for the game itself.

PS: The role play will proceed from the canon presented in the shows and movies, though I may have to add a bit of my own story onto the end of SGU, depending on where exactly they drop the story.
Also, regardless of how much interest there is, I will not be creating said role play until after the finale of SGU, so as to not conflict with what little bit of canon is left in Stargate's future.

Okay, we have enough takers. I will begin preliminary construction of role play.
EDIT: Should be ready within next couple days....
I had forgotten that I wanted to get through SGU before starting role play, so that I might not deviate from the canon of the final episode. Because of this, it may take me until Thursday-or-so of next week to get it up-and-running, but I will begin on the easy stuff right away.

Is there still room for another member? I wanted to wait until the end of SGU before jumping in to see where they were going with what little canon was left. Now that I know what's gone down, I think I would like to tag along though the RP Gate with you.

Yeah, dude. We'll take as many players as we can get. Here's my biggest problem. I now have to somehow write Destiny back to Earth, which may be somewhat difficult. I am unsure how long it will take, but I will have it ready as soon as I can.

Sweet! That's cool take all the time you need to get things ready. Um I guess this will take up that time you had been using to write that SG fanfic. I think you only got like one or two chapters done on that before you disappeared for awhile. No doubt it was the RL stuff and other things that you mention in the OP to this thread.

I realized that my fanfic, as I was writing it, may have contradicted future canon for the Stargate series, which is why I stopped. Obviously, at this point, it's obvious that it would not, but I find the idea of running kind of an interactive story less time-consuming, less overwhelming, and definitely a lot easier....

Ya I would have to say that this is going to be a might easier to work with than a multi chapter fanfic. Tell me something though that man who came though the gate, that was a younger General Hammond wasn't it.
