Tonight on SGU: ‘Blockade’

Nowhere Left To Run. With each jump into F.T.L. Destiny‘s crew hopes that they have put enough distance between themselves and the automated drone weapons that they’ll go out of range. But the plan just isn’t working, as time and again the drones turn up and attack Destiny when she drops out into a solar system. Now, the ship is running out of power.

“Blockade” airs tonight at 9 p.m. (8 Central) on Syfy Channel! It’s the second-to-last episode of the series.

Attacking drones return when the Destiny tries to recharge in a star. Eli proposes a risky alternative, which requires the rest of the crew to gate to a nearby planet for safety, where they find an abandoned city.

From SPACE:

Alien drones create a blockade of viable power sources forcing Destiny to recharge in a star so hot it could destroy the ship.

Wonderful episode, very suspenseful.

When Park was screaming, I thought she was being burned alive. I dislike how they didn't actually resolve the whole blindness issue. But I suppose I can't complain. I honestly thought they were going to kill her off like Riley and the million other crew members they've killed so far. Last episode of Stargate ever next week. I'm fairly saddened by this, and I feel like their current position in SGU's story is an incredibly inadequate point at which to leave us hanging.

On another note, there's an all-day SG-1 marathon next Monday on SyFy, leading up to the premiere of SGU's series finale. It will feature the best of the best episodes, as voted by gaters across the country, so I'm expecting awesomeness.

I equally thought Parks was a goner when the dome shattered, I really loved the spec effects of the blue giant star it just looked amazing. We finally got to see the LA rocket launcher that Joe showed concept art for on his blog. Little thing backs a punch. I wish the final to the series didn't have to deal with the Drones its too much like the Replicators for me, but I guess I can be happy with what we do get.

Actually that all-day marathon is every week day (May 2nd-6th) [this is from the news story on Gateworld]

It starts today with an SGU marathon, running from “Pathogen” (the fourth episode of the current season) to the mid-season finale, “Resurgence” (8 a.m. to 3 p.m. E/P). Next Monday, May 9, the SGU marathon picks up with “Deliverance” and runs through a repeat of tonight’s “Blockade” (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. E/P).

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week the fun continues with dozens of our favorite episodes of Stargate SG-1. Check out the full schedule to see the list of episodes airing this week. Episodes range all over the show’s 10-year run, and won’t be shown in any particular order — making it easy to drop in and out during the marathons, which will start at 8 or 8:30 a.m. E/P.

All times are subject to change.

Stargate Universe premieres a new episode tonight at 9/8c, and concludes with “Gauntlet” on Monday, May 9.
