...but did it say something about Watari being a World War III veteran or something equally AU? I think I may take that as an excuse not to mention any real-world politicians in my fanfic, so I hope I'm remembering correctly.

I remember reading that Wammy's House was founded just after WW2 ... so it's possible he fought in the war ...

Hold on... I'm confused... Are we talking WW II or WW III. World War II makes more sense to me since there hasn't been a World War III thus far, but I haven't read "Another Note" yet (though I want to) so it could be a fictional WW III?

It doesn't say anything about Watari in WWIII, but it says that L helped prevent WWIII.
