Personality: Is known to share a drink with his team at J's bar. He has an infectious smile and always seems to keep moral at a good level on the job. Underneath he is always studying, calculating and formulating. Some of his female co-workers have even accused him of 'undressing them with his eyes' though he's thought nothing of it. He is something of a motorcycle nut.
Biography: Shiggs went through life with what seemed to be a permanent black eye. He was always getting into fights at school with other children for whatever reason. His behavior became so bad that his parents opted for military school for him. He didn't mind military school and by the end of the day he was to tired to be angry with anyone. After he graduated he joined the Marines and ended up with the Force Recon unit. However Shiggs found it hard to follow certain orders he was given and was kicked out for acts of insubordination. Because of his skills he was picked up by the RPD S.T.A.R.S. unit. Within S.T.A.R.S he worked on Alpha team as the bomb disposal expert. Shiggs quickly became friends with Adam Kirk and his little sister Rin, accepting them as a surrogate family of sorts.
During the events of July 24th 1998 Shiggs followed the rest of Alpha team, under the leadership of Albert Wesker, into the Arklay woods and Mansion facility. Shortly before entering the mansion Shiggs and Chris became seperated from the rest of the team. They fought their way deep into the mansion and located Rebecca Chambers before eventually joining up with Jill and Barry. The five then descended deep into the depths of the Umbrella research facility where they discovered that Albert Wesker had betrayed the entire unit and caused the deaths of their comrades. Wesker awoke the Umbrella monster known as the Tyrant, which seemingly killed him and was then defeated by the team. After this the group armed the labs self destruction failsafe and evacuated to the helipad where they encountered the Tyrant a second time. The team was unable to defeat the tyrant as easily the second time and were only able to prevail when Jill Valentine, due to the actions of Brad Vickers, used a rocket launcher to blow it apart.
After the mansion incident the S.T.A.R.S unit was suspended and many of the officers chose to leave their jobs. Shiggs, along with the other survivors, resigned and made plans to head to Europe with Chris, Barry and Jill but was caught deep in the city when the infection spread.
