Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?: Staring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, George Segal, and Sandy Dennis. Made in 1966.
I have seen this movie twice now, and now I must review this film.
This is an incredible film. It engages you from the start, and doesn't let you go. It is a painful experience watching the film. The two main characters, George and Martha, verbally abuse one another and they have been humiliating one another in front of another young couple, and soon everyone becomes so involved in this "game." Elizabeth Taylor was incredible as Martha. She was so much into her character that we don't think that's she's Elizabeth Taylor. We think that she's Martha. Same with the rest of the actors. Every actor shines in this film.
The atmosphere and cinematography in this film gives the film its perfect mood. The script will make you cringe, but it is one of the things that also make the film shine.
All in all, this film deserves to be called a classic. Elizabeth Taylor's best performance.
10/10- Definitely a masterpiece.
