So my latest fix and my newest love is a game called
Shadows of the Colossus for the PS2.
Basically, the only storyline to the game is boy loves girl, girl dies, boy has to defeat 18 mega-super-large-stone beast things to bring girl back to life. See? Simple. And that's it. If you're a gamer who loves storylines, this might be a bit of a turn-off, but don't let that stop you from playing this game.
Probably the biggest, most awesome, feature of this game is the graphics and the environment in which you play. Absolutely STUNNING, is all I can even think to say. 3nodding The game takes place in this massive deserted ACREAGE, litterally, it took me a good hour just to explore half the Western region, and it's so easy to get lost, it's that big. But it's beautiful, so you almost don't mind getting lost. FINDING the colossi is about 10 times harder than actually KILLING the colossi, and killing them is no easy task.
It takes skill and smarts to beat these things, as I said there are 16 of them, and each one requires a different and completely unique strategy. And there absolutely gorgeous, I almost feel bad killing them. Almost.
The game is a bit on the redundant side; you find, you fight, you're told what you're gonna fight next, you find, you fight, etc... and the controls take a bit to get used to. But it all seems trivial when you actually play the game, because you're too busy staring in awe at your television screen to really care. Said was true in my oppinion, at least.
Whew sweatdrop , as you can tell, I really enjoyed this game. Anybody else?
