Shukei looked out at the vast expanse of nothingness that the group now stood on. He wasn't sure what they were looking for, just a sign of anything he figured. It'd be tough to accomplish here. This place wasn't like other wolds. It was massive, the size of several systems in itself. Vast desolate wastelands stretching out for God knows how long. He took a deep breath and sighed. "First things first, be careful out here. We won't be running into many heartless, the ones we do run into... Oh man.... You'll miss the lock heartless." He said as he turned to the group, the short, fifteen year old taking charge. It made sense seeing as he was sent to this piece of hell on his own not a few weeks earlier. "Then there's the other monsters, the Wastelings as I call them for lack of a better name. They make the heartless look pretty tame. Not in appearance, but in power. But even that isn't what'll probably get us, it's starvation and dehydration. Fortunately this." He said holding up his Star Shard. "Has a near bottomless stock of resources, so we should be good for a few weeks. Hopefully it won't take us that long." He said, pulling out a map he scribbled from the Star Shard. He unfolded it and looked through it, tracing his finger along it and turning his head as he did. "Well, I mapped a few unquestionably uninhabitable areas, too much heat and too many Wastelings for habitation, so we don't need to worry about there..." He scratched his head and looked over his shoulder to the distance. "That section of my map isn't finished." He said, putting the map away and pointing to what looked like a ring of mountains in the distance. "It wouldn't hurt to start there." He said as he put the shard into his pocket. There were a lot of areas not filled out on his map, but it was still a good place to start.

Clair listened to Shukei attentively, knowing that she was in uncharted territory and he was the only on who knew about this place. She raised her brow, hearing there was something more troublesome than heartless around here. Brilliant. Clair let go of Anaryn and hopped onto Aztec's back, keeping a firm grip on her dog's leashes. This wasn't a good place to just let them run free. She'd let them off leash when they found someplace a little more stable.
Kay and Mambo hopped down from the dogs's backs and looked off in the direction Shukei pointed. "Well..looks like we have a lot of ground to cover..." Mambo muttered, his ears dropping. Kay bumped his shoulder. "Don't sweat it. I got the water thing covered if we ever run out." she said confidently. Mambo smiled and waited for Shukei to lead the way.

Anaryn looked up, seeing the new world. "Wh-where are we?" she asked, looking around. "Would Crevan really take Arlen here?" She didn't feel like this was the case. Nonetheless, she cast her senses out, searching the area they were in now for his familiar signature. It was killing her to not be able to sense him. It was scaring her. She held onto Clair's arm again, trying to be strong for her friends, but feeling totally useless. Had her brother followed after her, had she tried to make her brother come with her and still make a run for it, rather than send her flying out himself, he would still be with her. It was horrible.
(edit!) Anaryn called for Kyran, who came immediately in a wisp of darkness. The puppy was in hell hound form, fiery mane racing down his back, jowls filled with razor-sharp teeth, and piercing red eyes that could still a soul. She jumped onto his back when he lowered himself down. Kyran was the most familiar with Arlen's scent. If anyone could find his physical scent, it was him. "We're gonna find Arlen, Kyran. Be a good boy and help us out. Okay?" Kyran growled, showing he understood.

Shukei looked back at Anaryn, shaking his head because he forgot to tell them where they were. "This is The Wasteland, more specifically, the World of Desolation. I'm pretty sure this is the edge of the World." He said solemnly. "And I'm not sure if this is the type of place this Crevan guy would take him, but Xeeres wants to be thorough. And like I said, this is pretty much the edge of the World, if he isn't here, we can mark it off." He said confidently as he strolled on towards the intended mountain ring. He looked back up at Clair's dogs and pulled out his Star Shard. From that he pulled out two large steaks and fed the two dogs. "Not to be a jerk, but we're gonna get tired, and we may need to ride on those guys for a while. I just want to make sure they're fed." He said cheerfully, smiling up at them and Clair. He looked onward towards their destination. He was getting a bad feeling about that place, and he could only assume it was one of a few things. One Crevan, or two, anything really. This place was perfect for hiding stuff.

Clair smiled as Shukei was kind enough to feed her babies. "Aww! Thanks hun! And it's no problem. My dog's are adapted for this kind of travel. Maya, pick him up." she said cheerfully and Maya, without breaking a step grabbed up Shukei by his shirt and set him gently on his back, licking him happily before turning back to look ahead. The foxes jumped up too. Aztec eyes the new dog trotting along side them. He let out a curious groan but Clair made sure he stayed focused. "No. You can say hi when we stop." she said and Aztec did as commanded. "So Shukei. What were you doing in this place anyway?" she asked curiously, wondering why anyone would want to go anywhere as desolate as this.

Anaryn nodded at Shukei as he was dropped onto Maya's back. "Well, I kinda hope that Arlen isn't here. I'm a little nervous about this place. And why were you here, Shukei?" She hadn't seen her friend in a while, and was curious as to why he would be in a place like this. "Is it because of Goukei?" She remembered when they had last fought Goukei and his group a while back. It felt so long ago after what had happened to her brother. She shook her head to shake out the feelings of depression once again and nudged Kyran's sides for him to move forward and to behave.
The hell hound's permanant snarl turned to Aztec, his red slits for eyes staring at him. He was curious, too, but his master had told him to find her brother. The one that tasted good but wouldn't go down his throat. The loud one. He sniffed the air, his breath causing steam to blow into the air.

Shukei looked around at Clair and Anaryn who both seemed intent on finding out just what he had been doing here. Lots of things really. He had simply been ordered to come here, but he had trained while he was here, searched for one of the major threats to the World, but that wasn't an order. He had been ordered to make a map. "Well..." He began, thinking things over. "I was sent here to make a map. I don't know why, they never told me, they just told me to chart this place. The supposed edge of the universe or whatever." He said, looking out at the wasteland. "Wanted me to map it out, report what kinds of creatures lived here. It's far out of range of any sensing. I don't even think Caesar can see this place. Look up." He said, looking up into the sky as he had told them to do. Through the dust and clouds there was a light source, but if you paid attention... "There aren't any stars. Not a single one can be seen. And you know what that means? No worlds, as far as you can see." He explained, pointing up into the sky. "Usually, from anywhere, you can see countless numbers of stars, but here, nothing. Not even the light source is a star. Just... I don't even know. Magic? Something else?" He said, covering his eyes and looking out towards it. "I know you didn't ask for all that, but yeah, I was just here to basically survey the land if you will." He said looking back out to the front.

Anaryn looked to the sky and saw that indeed, there were no stars. It was all black. Was Arlen in amonst the stars behind them, or out in this void abyss? Where was he? And was this really the edge of the universe? It was baffling. She always felt that the universe went on forever and ever. She held Kyran's collar in her hands, her hands turning white from her holding onto it so tightly. She was worried, though her friends probably could see that. Nonetheless, they had something important to do. Search every world possible for Arlen. Okay, maybe every world won't be searched, but she hoped the search didn't take long. She was so worried, and the hole in her heart was growing by the minute. It was unfair. Her brother was out there. Probably scared, hurt, alone. No. Not probably. More like is. It sounded so right it made her sick.

Clair looked up at the stars or lack of there of. It made her nervous, like when Asura took all of the worlds and consumed them. She looked back out into the landscape but not before noticing Anaryn's nervousness. She reached out her tail and caressed her hand before taking it back, offering her a warm and comforting smile. She knew how she was feeling. She had the same thoughts when she had lost her sister. It tugged at her heart a bit and the thought. She hated that Anaryn was going through this. She hated Arlen was with that lunatic. Clair growled viciously at the thought. Crevan had better hope to Kingdom Hearts she never got a hold of him, because if she does she will make sure his death was slow and agonizing before she devours his heart. Her face wrinkled up in disgust. No. She would never have his tainted flesh touch her tongue. He wasn't even suited to be fed to her dogs. Aztec whined, feeling Clair's anger and instinctively ducked his head down.
Kay and Mambo looked up at the stars themselves and sighed. It was odd wasn't it? "Shukei, out of curiosity...how far'd you get on the map?" Kay asked curiously looking over her shoulder like a curious child, her tail wagging. Mambo tilted his head and looked out at the landscape, so much nothing.

Shukei looked down at the foxes and shrugged, thinking about his map. "That's the thing, I'm not sure. This place seems to go on forever." He said as he pulled the map from the Star Shard in his pocket. It reacted to thought, so it always knew exactly what he was trying to pull out of it. He opened the map and looked over it, tilting his head as he did. "See this point?" He asked, pointing to a specific mark he had made that stood for where he started. Out from it were several other markings and in the corner a compass and a legend. From the beginning mark were several other markings, such as mountains, deserts, dens of monsters, areas where heartless would show up and far to the north of it was the point they had landed on. According to the map, Shukei had surveyed the world in a circle, the initial point being the center, and similar point north, south, east and west of it with landmarks being filled out in a circle connecting the points. Judging from the map, the marks were several miles from the center, and then other marks several miles from them. All in all, there were three sets of marks from the center, from the legend, one hundred miles apart. "We're about four-hundred miles from where I started. I don't think we're putting too much of a dent in this place, but they want me to find what I can in this... World." He explained as he folded up his map and put it back in the shard. He looked ahead, back to the ring. The closer they got the stranger and more ominous it felt. But they were still miles off from it, they had time.

Anaryn tried returning Clair's smile, but only succeeded in giving her a look that said, 'thanks, but it was worth a shot.' She looked over at Shukei and his strange instrument and listened to him as he explained what was going on. She kept nudging Kyran ahead, making sure he didn't stray from the path. That was the last thing she wanted at the moment! She felt the chilling feeling of omnious and strange vibes. Not usually a preferred sign when going deeper in a new world.

Clair listened with mild interest, sort of zoning out towards the half end of what Shukei was saying. She had busied herself, looking off into the landscape when she felt a darkening force on the horizon. Her dogs were becoming fidgety, their lips curling back into an occasional snarl. "Easy boys." she muttered and the dogs calmed down somewhat. She groaned a little and was curious about something that was plaguing her as soon as she got here. "So..Shukei. You said that there were creatures out here worse than heartless....do you know what they are? What's so worrisome about em? Are they darkness like the heartless too or are they things that just live here?" She asked. It had been bothering her for some time now and she was curious what was such a big deal about them.
"I sort of don't want to know...heartless are enough of a bother. Now there's something worse? I guess you would expect something like that at the end of the world huh?" Mambo said as he continued to look off into the landscape.

Shukei looked up as they asked about the monsters, the Wastelings. He scratched his head thinking about it. "Well, I don't think they're heartless. The heartless have attacked them, so I assume that they have hearts that the heartless would be after. I've fought a few of them, so I know that they aren't made of darkness, and they hurt, a lot, trust me." He said. He reached inside the Star Shard and pulled out two more sheets of paper, both folded similar to his map. I took pictures of them, and from what I can tell, they tend to come in pretty generic forms, much like heartless. The ones I've fought looked like this and this . Those are the only ones that I've run into, and you don't want to run into them, trust me." He said, squinting a bit thinking about the pain they managed to inflict on him. It was something fierce really. Even heartless were hesitant to battle them. And the heartless weren't exactly the type to show caution. "From my experience, they don't tend to be as closely grouped as heartless. Meaning there shouldn't be as many random encounters like there are with heartless. However, they do call in back up occasionally, so we gotta be careful of that." He said, looking up at the mountain ring. It was good that they weren't attacked yet, he thought, but also strange. Was whatever they were getting close too so threatening that even the Wasteling wouldn't go near it? Or was there another reason. He wiped sweat from his forehead. It was hot. Barely a few miles from the starting point and he was already getting tired, and he wasn't even walking, the dogs were. He pulled water out of his Star Shard and his eyes widened in surprise as he went to drink. They had been there for a few hours, two, maybe three, and he was surprised something like this hadn't happened before. He looked around and saw a ditch area with what looked like an underground cave, it would have to work. "We have to get over there, now." He said, pointing to the underground cave. "Before you ask." He said trying to get Maya to turn. "That's why." He said, pointing to the large wall of debris that was headed toward them. These things happened often on this world, and they were incredibly fortunate they didn't have to dig their own shelter. But they would need to hurry. He pulled out the Star Shard and looped a chain around it, hooking it to his pants so no horribly unfortunate pocket slips would occur. They need something from there to seal up the opening of the cave.

Anaryn looked over at Shukei as he described what was on this world and looked at the two photos. She shivered at the sight of them. They made her feel nervous. She heard the sounds of the wall of debris that was coming at them. She agreed Shukei's thoughts, though of course she couldn't tell his mind. It just sounded like a good idea to get to safety and shelter. "Is there anywhere to go?" she asked, tightening her grip on Kyran's collar.
