xx♦xxOld MeLily slowly rolled into Johnny Rocket's on her board, glancing up at the new sign before rolling through the doors. Nice was what passed through her head as she made her way to the counter, finally hopping off of her board as she came to a stop. "Orange Gatorade..." she said and leaned against the counter to wait for her drink.
Smiling her thanks, she made her way to a window seat and sat down, pulling her skateboard onto the seat beside her and began to think of ways to spend her lunch time. Back at home, she would spend it causing trouble with her best friend, but Lily told her mom that she was done with that, that she wouldn't cause trouble after they moved, and so far, she hadn't, but who knew how long that would last. ──────────────────

──────────────────The young model gracefully made her way into the restaurant. Swiftly, and beautifully, walking to the counter, she smiled and said. "Pepsi please!" And cheerfully waited for her drink. "And a big CHEESEBURGER!" She quickly added... As she waited, she looked around the place. Wonder if this is where the school kids hang out. She thought to herself and nodded as she took her Pepsi and Burger.
Turning around, she noticed a young girl (Lily) sitting by herself. So, straightening her shoulders, she walked over to her and sat down in the seat across from her. "Hey. I'm Zane" She said, sticking out her hand. "Is it okay that I sit here?" The young model asked quickly. "Because I can leave" she then offered.  ──────────────────

xx♦xxOld MeLily jumped out of her thoughts when she heard someone order Pepsi and a cheeseburger. Talk about your carbs. She thought and turned her head to see a gorgeous woman ordering it. She wasn't worried about putting on weight? That was new. Lily sighed and went back to looking out the window. What to do, what to do...
Lily jumped again and turned her head to look at the girl named, Zane. Shaking the girls hand, she said. "Lily and no. That's fine, I'm not saving the seat for anyone." Shrugging she smiled, sort of. "So.. SInce you're obviously not in school. What do you do for a living?" she asked, trying to make conversation.──────────────────

──────────────────Zane smiled apologetically. "Sorry if I startled ya. My steps are light and apparently I have a habit of... 'sneaking up' on someone." She smiled and opened her Pepsi, taking a sip. "So you came here alone then?" She asked, opening her cheeseburger wrapper. Zane picked up her burger and took a big bite, which, was a big mistake. Because, almost right after that, Lily asked her a question. So, she held up her pointer and made an effort to chew quicker... Finally swallowing, she smiled. "Sorry about that. What do I do for a living?" Zane wiped her mouth with a napkin. "I'm a model" she said softly. "What do you enjoy doing?" ──────────────────

"Cool. Not that it's surprising.... What do I like doing?" Lily tilted her head, stunned. No one usually asked what she liked, that was different. "I like to... Skateboard." She held up her board. "Obviously.... Uh... play basketball...." She said and shrugged. "The normal stuff I guess."──────────────────

──────────────────Zane smiled and nodded. "Yep. That's what I do for a living. I'm here on a break." She explained briefly. The young model grinned when Lily held up her skateboard. "That's cool. I would learn, but I'm seriously clumsy when it comes to sports." She admitted with a sheepish smile. "Ohh." Zane said and raised her eyebrow. "An athletic girl. Cool... The normal stuff? So, then, what exactly is normal? Because your normal might be different than my normal." Zane said with a smile, taking a small bite of her cheeseburger. ──────────────────

xx♦xxOld MeLily nodded politely as Zane said why she was here. Wonder what it's like being a model. She thought to herself before returning her attention to Zane. Lily smiled softly. "It's not that hard to learn." She said. "But I guess it's harder if you don't have a knack for it... And if you can't stay on the board." She added slowly. Lily shook her head. "I'm not that athletic." She argued before blinking in surprise at Zane's question. What was normal? Lily sat there stunned for a bit, she hadn't expected to be asked that. Usually when someone said, 'normal stuff like that' or something to the effect, the other person would nod and then not press further. This was new for Lily. So, since she wasn't sure how to answer it, she just shrugged. "I don't know." Lily said softly, looking back out the window, thinking about her best friend. Her partner in trouble-making. Of course, their last... prank, if you could call it that. Resulted in Lily being expelled. I hope he's doing okay.──────────────────

 .-ℓυcαѕ Lucas strolled into the restaurant at a very leisurely pace, taking a seat in one of the empty booths and ordering a burger and fries with a very large chocolate milkshake. School was school, he was glad the day was over. He leaned back in the seat, still thinking of Ami. She was really amazing, and he couldn't get her out of his thoughts. He'd never met anyone else like her in the whole of Jersey. He chewed thoughtfully on his fries, She'd never go for me though... For sure, she likes that Jai guy. The dude was a musician! How could he compete with that? He was nothing but a shy, lonely artist.

A drawing is simply a line going for a walk.
Ami happily walked into the building, notebook and pen in hand. Pausing at the entrance, she straightened her outfit and, slinging her backpack over one shoulder, she walked over to a spot in the corner. Perfectly isolated. Which was wonderful. There would be less of a chance that her and Jai would be interrupted. Her first voice lesson! She grinned and sat down, she was excited. Still grinning like an idiot, she pulled out her sketchbook and a pencil and began to draw. A while earlier, she had asked Jai to teach her how to write songs, so she could get her feelings out that way, but he had told her that drawing was also a way to do that. And oddly enough, that was what she had been doing since she could pick up a pencil. She sighed contently and continued to draw, waiting for Jai. Pausing for a moment to think about her technique, she glanced up and saw Lily, talking with some gorgeous girl. Hmm... Wonder who that is. She thought before turning her attention back to her drawing.x──────────────────
In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing

xx ◕ xx ↪ xxx Jai xxxxxxxxxxx Proud Musician xxxxxxx TexasMusic washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. Jai calmly strode into the restaurant, stopping, he glanced around a bit. He hadn't been in here for quite a while, so he was curious to see if anything had changed, or if it was still the same as he remembered. Giving his head a small shake, he looked around for Ami. Now, when he had asked her where they should meet, he had meant somewhere a little more private, but this was okay. It wasn't like they were going to sing on the first lesson anyways. So, after finally spotting Ami, lost in her drawing, he began to walk over to her, guitar in hand. Which was usual, he always had his guitar with him.
Poking Ami in the shoulder, he gave her a smile and sat down in front of her. "You ready? Or do you want to finish that first?" He asked.
Ami smiled and closed her sketchbook. No. I'm ready." She said. Locking her gaze on him.
With a smile Jai set his guitar on his lap. "Okay... Today, we won't be singing. Because, one, I don't think you'd want to do that at a restaurant, two, I need to teach you the basics first." He said as she pulled out her notebook and pen. He chuckled, of course she would take notes. "Now, the most important thing, is to breath properly... I know you may think you are, but you're not...." x────────────────── My idea is that there is music in the air, music all around us; xxxx the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require.  .-ℓυcαѕ Lucas had long forgotten how long he had been sitting in the booth, only that he got bored enough to pull out his sketch pad from his backpack and start on another drawing. He had to do something he knew would possibly help him take his mind off of Ami. Except...halfway through his drawing, he looked up and discovered he had been drawing her, sitting in the booth. He had left out Jai from his picture, obviously. He shut his sketch pad and shoved it back in his backpack. Damn...this is worse than I thought. He got up and put one strap over his shoulder, hurrying out of the diner, hoping Ami wouldn't see him. He doubted it though, her back was to the front door.

[indent] Jai sighed and leaned against his guitar as he let the words sink into her mind. Looking up, he noticed Lucas leave rather quickly. He leaned back in the booth and thought. To him, it felt like Lucas didn't quite like him all that much. Why was beyond him. As far as he could recall, he had done nothing to annoy, hurt or piss him off. [indent] Ami looked from her notebook to Jai, and back to her notebook again. "So..." [indent] Jai blinked and turned his eyes back to Ami as her words pulled him from his thoughts. "Keep going? Or do you have questions?" He asked, shifting his guitar to a different position. [indent] Ami shook her head and was quite for a moment. "So... breath properly... deep and full....." She began. She wanted to make sure she had it right before he continued. "Vocal warm ups before singing....scales, relax....drink water..." She trailed off and looked up at Jai. [indent] "And sing with your diaphragm, not your throat." [indent] "What's the difference?!" Ami said, beginning to get a little frustrated. This was like an overload. "I didn't think there was this much! I can't do this.." [indent] Jai quickly stood up as Ami stood to gather her things. Placing a hand on her arm, he said. "Drawing." He nodded as she looked at him. Now that he had her attention, he motioned for her to sit again. Once she was sitting, he began. "I don't know the first thing about making a good drawing. There are probably lots of different techniques to use the pencil, shading and all that. Me? I don't know the difference." He admitted. "I get that it's a bit of an overload. But we can take it slowly. One topic per day. If, after one or two lessons, you still don't want this anymore. We can stop. But you'll regret it if you don't try." His eyes sparked. That sounded like a song. Jai quickly pulled out his notebook and began to write something. Putting his pen down, he looked at Ami. [indent] "Okay," but she was smiling. She had been right on her first judgement about him. He was thoughtful. And if he could relate just about anything to art, then he was as amazing as she thought. [indent] "But for today, we can stop." Jai said, taking a sip of water.
