It was shaping up to be another lazy day for one lazy lemur. It wasn't that Roland had nothing to do. In fact, he had a bunch of things that would keep him fairly entertained. He was simply too sluggish to bother. What was different about him now, however, was that he had someone on his mind. Even as he hung upside-down from a tree by his tail, nibbling on some sour berries, he thought of his Key friend, Ceri. It had been a while since they crossed paths and he missed her consistent giggling. With that thought in mind, he actually [somehow] convinced his idle limbs to move and send him climbing through the trees to look for his bubbly companion.

User ImageIt just so happened that at that very moment Roland started thinking about her, Ceri started giggling. No mystical connection to it or anything like that; Ceri was always giggling. It wasn't some kind of compulsion or disease, though a couple more studious minds were working on a theory. Ceri was just always happy, and when she was happy she laughed. The littlest things could send her into a titter.

She was, at the moment, perched in a cherry tree. Unlike her best friend Roland, Ceri prefered sweet food. She had once commented that it worked out perfectly, since neither would try to sneak off with the other's snacks! Her current bout of giggles had been brought on by a tiny flock of sparrows that shared the tree with her. They were working so hard to pluck those cherries and fly back to their nests, but the fruits were as big around as their entire heads! And little ball of feathers fluttered laboriously past her, enciting a whole new round of giggles.

Oh, this was too funny not to share! Roland had to be somewhere nearby. He was a lot lazier and prone to sticking to one spot, which actually made him easy to find. Even easier, he'd be in one of the trees with sour or bitter fruits. Ceri tapped a paw to her chin and made a brief mental map of the likely places her friend would be.

Roland looked for Ceri at the usual places she liked to frequent. A good twenty minutes passed before the lemur Lock decided he needed a break. After all, he was used to remaining stationary for a good portion of the day. Moving around so much was unfamiliar. He rested on a branch and basked in the sun; the bright luminescence made his dark coat shine and also made his star patterns stick out all the more. When he felt satisfied with his reprieve, he continued on his search.

Eventually, he arrived at a cherry tree. The small fruits were far too sweet for his taste, but he didn't mind being near them. In fact, the smell was quite pleasing. He puttered around and went branch to branch without thinking of much until he nearly ran into the very Key he was looking for. "Ceriii!" he chirped, immediately clinging to her. He wrapped his arms, legs, and tail around her tightly, nuzzling the cheerful bunny. "I was lookin'fer you." At last, his search came to an end.

Ceri predictably began to giggle, both paws clamped over her mouth and her body vibrating so much with the laughter that it was a wonder how Roland could manage to hold onto her without resorting to desperate clutching.

"I was just about to look for you," Ceri chirped, when she finally got her giggles under control. Pleased with this new outcome, Ceri unconsciously began fluttering her wings. She actually managed to rise off the branch a few inches, even with Roland's extra weight. The Key was stronger than her attitude made her seem!

"Roland, Roland look!" She turned and pointed a paw in the direction of the sparrows. They'd scattered at first when the Lock made his energetic enterance, but the promise of food and lack of danger had quickly brought them back.

Roland was so comfortable and content wrapped around Ceri that he almost didn’t respond to her exclamation. Lazily, he opened one eye and peeked out at the sparrows. He couldn’t help but crack a small smile. “They must be super hungry,” he observed, slowly unwrapping himself from his friend. He hopped beside her and hung, as usual, upside-down from his tail; his chains and lock jingled. The lemur looked like a bat when he did this, but it was oddly pleasing.

Ceri just giggled at Roland's statement, putting her front paws forward on the branch and hopping her back ones up to meet the front, so that she was in a sort of crouch position on the branch under Roland.

"Cherries are good! They're probably hurryin' to eat 'em all before something else does. Lots of creatures like sweet food is tasty." And then she hoisted herself onto her back feet and bumped her nose against Roland's, which started a whole new titter of giggles and caused her to launch from the branch to flutter a little in order to disperse the energy.

Roland pondered about cherries but was interrupted when another nose met his own. He smiled. "There aren't many who like sour fruits. Of course, that leaves more fer'me," he stated, watching Ceri flutter about. "What've you been doin' lately? Haven't seen'ya in forever." As he waited for a reply from his friend, the lemur busied himself by snacking on some green berries he kept tucked in his collar.

Ceri hovered, her head tilted just a bit as she pondered Roland's question. "I've been flying around to find different snack trees, and watchin' birds and butterflies, and visiting Aine, and findin' little surprises for you."

She suddenly zoomed upward, and out of sight. There was a rustling sound, something big in the branches wiggling about. Just as suddenly she plummeted back into view. Maybe a bit too far, because she had to flap her wings with a lot of energy and go back up to get to Roland. She was grinning hugely as she held something out to the Lock.

"Hee~re," she cooed, offering a granny smith apple to Roland. When she'd first nibbled the apple the sour taste had made her wrinkle her nose. She was pretty sure Roland would enjoy it though, and brought a couple back for him.
