Either while taking an insulin shot or having the effects of a high or low???
Ive experienced both. Several times when im out in public eating i usually try to sit in a booth if possible and wait til after the waiter/waitress walks away before giving myself a shot, ive gotten very nasty or wtf looks before. Once even at a ruby tuesdays a waitress tried to tell me i couldnt do that at the table and when i said diabetes she gave me a oh s**t look and gave my meal for free. My girlfriends manager actually told her she saw me shooting up somthing and she told her i was diabetic and needed insulin shots before meals but that was at mcdonalds what do you expect hahaha.
Also there have been times when people thought i was stoned but in reality i had a high or low blood sugar,
It can be frusterating sometimes cant it??

I've never had that happen to me but have heard of it happening. I try to avoid all situations like that. Whenever I go out to eat with family I always do my shot before we go into the place. I really don't like people watching me do it so I don't do it where people can see me. Maybe try doing it in the bathroom? Or just keep doing what you're doing and chew people out for assuming things. And another thing, like you'd really be dumb enough to do drugs like that in public, are those people morons?? ✿

I get nasty looks a lot too... but I just take my shots in public. If people really have to know, I let them know I am a diabetic, which usually leads to the "Oh Sh--- face"
Maann people. Come on! XD

I've gotten a couple of reactions when I used the shots at school before XD; But now, I don't have any sort of problems with that, since I've had an insulin pump for a year and a half now. smile

I've never actually had that happen and I've given insulin at some pretty non-discreet places(like the middle of an airport). I'm not really afraid of doing it in public, it's just like, oh it's high, time to give(whips out pen), so I'm a little surprised. I have had people get grossed out when they see the needle or watch enraptured(which is kind of funny, kind of awkward).
I have however, confused people. I have the tendency to forget that people don't automatically understand that when I say, oh I'm high, that I'm referring to my blood sugar. Thankfully, it's never caused me any trouble other than a few confused faces and a long-winded explanation or two.
