++___INTRODUCTION
Welcome!
Since a decent number of members here are clearly artists, I've decided to make a thread where they can post their self-portraits for comment, critique, or general oogling. I chose self-portraits only because it was the first thing to come to mind.
This is pretty straight forward. Simply post your self-portraits, which can be anything from self-avatar art to art of your offline self to anything in between, and discuss whatever comes out of the comments. Commenting (polite and encouraging) and good, strong critique is always welcome in this thread, but if you don't want to be critiqued (which is a shame), simply say so when you post.
Please, have fun with this thread. Participate as often as you like. Even if you don't have a self-portrait to post, feel free to comment as you please. If you have more than one self-portrait to post, do so. ^_^' As long as it has something to do with self-portraits or something similiarly art-related, go ahead and enjoy.

Tropical Kiwi I think this is one of my only self-avatar arts. o_o; I need to do more of those instead of doing free art for everyone else. T__T
And then this is myself IRL.
To the poll: I like to draw with pencil on paper first, maybe ink it, scan it in, and clean it up on the computer and/or colour it. whee Sometimes I just scan them in and upload it right then and there, sometimes I just do freehand art on computer programs. Yeah, I draw other people and characters far more than I draw myself as well. I like the second drawing. Did you do it in Photoshop or something? It's cute. The hair texture looks a lot like hair. ^____^
It's so weird to see a drawing of your avatar with hair. xD Sorry, had to say it. It's so cute though. I love the way the Kiki Kitty's just kind of...slumped over.
That was a good poll, wasn't it? I never was very good at thinking up poll questions, but that one just came to me. Yay, discussion. I do nearly the same as what you do, but I rarely ink my stuff. I draw in red pencil, go over in black, scan into the computer, and color, or, like you, I just do everything completely in Photoshop, because I haven't installed Painter yet...

Skully Kat I probably only have silly things I did on paint when I got bored. But I'll post whatever I have. This one is more represented, it doesn't look that much like me. Drew it real quick and took a picture because I don't have a scanner anymore. This looks more like me when my hair was short. Again, took a picture. That was drawn last year though, I've gotten a lot better. Same story as the last few. Drawn last year. That's all I have on the computer unfortunately... I need a scanner... Those are really cute, Skully. Cx On the rare occasions that I draw myself or my avatar, they never have so much emotion.
I may ask you guys who have posted, or will (hopefully) post, to link to your artworks in some way, so that the page doesn't get stretched out. It's kind of one of my pet peeves...^____^

Meh, my only real "self-portrait." Though the subject is, more or less, my avatar, it looks like me too, so I guess it counts as both, right? Right.  I don't like this drawing, because I did really badly on its coloring. The lines are so messy and ugly, but I don't mind the top half.

I like drawing others because of the variety of styles and interests of other peoples' avatars and/or characters and stuff. And thank you, yes, the second drawing was done on Photoshop. x3

Yeah, I never make polls.. except for the LSG where you HAVE to make polls. All I ever do is random things.. XP But that's cool, I also don't really ink stuff a lot, though I do it when I don't feel like doing much cleaning up on Photoshop.
Painter? I have Photoshop and Gimp (which I do not like Gimp...), and I also used to have openCanvas (which I LOVED) until I was drawing one day, made a new layer, and the program crashed. It pissed me off so much. -_-
So... I uninstalled it. XD I've gotta get it again.

The colouring is wonderful! I especially love the skin, hair, and shirt. <33 And the lines are very clean and pretty, I'd not call them messy or ugly at all. x3

But seriously! Look at like the lines on the thighs. They're not even and just kind of ugly. I dunno what I was thinking there. Thank you though. I do like the coloring of the skin and hair, because it came out looking like me. I wish I could paint the sweater to have some kind of texture that resembles a sweater...I'll have to try that.

I like your drawing. It's so...I dunno...It's messy, but it's cute. I haven't really seen anything like it, and even though it's not of your avatar, it's still kind of...Gaian, in a way, at least to me.
