Hey everyone! Sorry I've been lurking for so long! Ended up having to move out back in Feburary-ish and so have had an unstable access to computers since then.
HOWEVER!!!!
I get my new laptop as a graduation gift tomorrow so I shall return! Mwahahaha!

Also, just found out I got accepted to the Art Institute for their Fashion Design program...might have to move again now. hmmn....

Yea! It's still a huge industry apparently. Honestly though, I just started getting into fashion because I need a real degree in something that provides an income until I can get certified as a ferrier and horse trainer. razz And I like making clothes since malls aggravate me. Hehe.

Is being a ferrier hard? I don't know much about it.

You get kicked a lot until you get really good, and you have to be careful about certain parts of the hoof, but that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge about the difficulty. The ferriers I know are really awesome people with a great understanding of horses. Apparently part of the certification is actually an anatomy study as well, which is pretty cool.

Horse's feet are incredibly complex and sensitive things. Shoeing a horse takes some skill - if you trim the foot wrong, or put the nails for a shoe in at the wrong angle, you can end up in laming the animal permanently.

A good farrier is a wonderful thing - they can actually compensate for conformation problems on individual animals, and help them be happier and more comfortable.

So- I just talked to one of my professors, and they warned me against the Art Institute- apparently it's at least 4x more expensive then even some out of state tuitions and their claims for job placement are fudged.

I even heard something about how "For Profit Schools" are in trouble with the government.

Yeah, I heard something about that last bit myself.
