EDIT: We have subforums!!

Woot! Thank you Loki for the last 950 we needed!

So, originally my plan for subforums was that we'd make one devoted solely for each series. (So like all DBZ-related things -- plotline discussion, character rules, application form, etc -- would be under it's own little area.)

But... I don't really like that idea anymore. I was thinking instead to make a subforum for all roleplay-related things (except AU and Conglomo), another for OOC stuff/plot discussions, a subforum for AU and other weird roleplay stuff, and then use the main board for all series setup stuff and character approvals.

What do you all think?

EDIT (Kruen): Grouping everything by series would mean we have to buy 5 subforums. With the new way we'd only need 3.

Hmm... perhaps. This is something I definitely think we should discuss, so that navigation can be set up easier.

My main thing was that I really wanted to make a separate thread for character bio's, since shoving them all in 2 posts makes it really difficult to edit someone's bio.

So, going off your setup.....

Main: Rules, guidelines, announcements, storyline synopses/plot discussion
Sub 1: Roleplaying and Character Bio's
Sub 2: AU/Other-verse Roleplay
Sub 3: OOC and Silliness

Hmm... Since I've never owned a guild, I don't know how much it is per subforum. With that thought in mind, I'll present an idea or two.


Ideally, a subforum for each series would work best, with that forum containing all the information regarding that particular series. *Points to example below.*

Main Board
-Board-Related Topics
-OOC Topic(s)
-Applicant Discussion
-Templates for Bios
-Introductory Topic (Basically a place to introduce yourself to the other members. Could be added once our numbers start climbing.)

>Naruto Subforum
-Information regarding the individual series
-Character Bios
-Story So Far
-Ideas, Suggestions, and Feedback
-Various RP topics, including AU

Costs permitting, maybe we could run something like that. Each series would have their own sub-forum, and we could have one solely for Conglomo-verse. Of course, this is the most costly option, since it requires the most amount of subforums. In my opinion, though, it is the best possible way to organize things. Right now, since membership is low, it doesn't take much to navigate to a particular RP. But, as our numbers rise, more and more RP topics will start popping up. It makes more sense to designate the individual RP's to their appropriate series, instead of having one forum set up for -all- RP's.

Now, if subforums cost an ungodly amount, it would take us forever to accumulate that much gold. That leads us to the following solution.

I think we could have a subfolder for roleplaying, a subfolder for bios, and the AU subfolder. Rules and submission posts, as well as OOC chatter, can be handled in the main forum.

Also, in the character place, what if each character had it's own thread? It would be easier to find a character, as well as edit said characters.

2,500 per? Whew, that's not even half as bad as I had thought. Someway, somehow, I got it into my mind that the subforums were about 10k each. Glad to see I was wrong on that count.

With that in mind, I'll see what I can do about fundage for this guild. I'm thinking it's about time for me to collect on some back debts owed to me.

Eeep. Moving the threads seems like it would be too much of a hassle. Under these circumstances, maybe we should wait and get the opinions of the other members and crew...
