Brethren, musicians, beloveds in Christ,
I am here to make a proposal: I assume the majority of this forum has some God-given talent, a learned gift, and ability of some sort in the field of music. How much are you actually using this gift, though, for the whole glory of the Lord?
Now, I am not accusing anyone, nor do I wish to offend. But if God gave you something, like the opportunity to learn piano, and you took it, is it not logical to use it for the Lord? To learn songs of worship, to glorify the name of the Almighty, is this not a more valuable thing than to waist all your time on music of the world? I am not condemning their music, by all means learn it (with proper discernment). But don't limit yourself only to it. God gave you this gift, so use it for Him!
All you writers out there write a psalm, a hymn, a song to God, your perfect Lover. Those with knowledge of music theory, add notes and chords to these songs. Dancers, create movements for this music. Musicians and singers, play and sing your hearts out alongside with the dancers, and observe as the body of Christ works in perfect unity to the glory of God the Father.
I pray that all those in Christ with any talent whatsoever may use it to praise the King of kings who is worthy, to whom be the honor forever and ever. Amen.

I agree completely with what you're saying. I sing in my church praise team because I feel closest to God when I sing for him. It's a wonderful experience. Every time the annual talent show comes around at my school, I always sing a christian song, to see if any of the lyrics reach my fellow classmates.

Yes, I agree.
I hate when people take their amazing talents and use it to make a rap about sex, etc. People need to understand that music is a privilege!
