Julian drummed his fingers on his desk as he sat in class. His mind wasn’t focused on the task at hand, which was defining the vocab for Chapter 1 History. But instead he was trying to come up with a name for his avatar. He couldn’t sit still, and kept shuffling his feet, and hunching over his empty notebook. He had scribbled a few doodles of various anime characters and found himself staring at Chrono, one of Kosuke Fujishima’s goddesses from the world Ah Megami-sama! It was one of his favorites. He wished he could be so talented.

It wasn’t long before the teacher leaned over his desk and snatched away his art. But instead of keeping it for him to pick up after class, where he was sure he would get a scolding, she started talking about Chrono.

“Y-you’re a Fujishima fan?” Julian asked, raising a brow in disbelief. That was impossible. She was his history teacher.

“Maybe,” she replied mockingly, waving the notebook at Julian. “But you know where Chrono got her name right? From Chronos, the god of time.”

“Yeah,” Juilan replied, nodding. “The other goddesses were named after time-related gods too.”

“Very good. But I have to ask, why are you doodling them on your homework?” she tsked.

Oh wait. So this was going to be a scolding. Juilan gulped. “Uhhhh….”

“I see you don’t have an answer. Well I’ll just hold onto this. And you still have to have those definitions in on time,” she added, wagging a finger.

“Yes, Ma’am.” And then it was decided. That’s when it dawned on him what he would call himself. “Chronos….”
