Gaia Username: Snuff that Muffin Secret identity: Elizabeth Bishop Hero name: Firefly Age: 14 (born 17/July/1997) Powers: Manipulation of Energy: Beth is able to control the flow of her and other's energy. This allows her to do so much as fire energy blasts from her hand, propel herself to fly, create barriers, and even give and receive energy. This ability makes Beth very useful as a "Jack of All Trades" type character. Healing: At the expense of her own energy, Beth can restore energy and heal wounds of her allies. Beth may also receive energy from an ally to heal herself. Combat: Beth may fire bolts of energy from her hands. At higher levels, she may manipulate them into blades and such. Beth may also sap the energy from her opponent, though this is dangerous because it involves keeping contact with the foe. Defenses (latent): By expending a large amount of energy, Beth may create barriers to block attacks. Flight (latent): Much like a rocket, Beth can blast energy from her hands/feet to propel herself into the air and fly. Weaknesses: Energy Drain: All though Beth's powers are quite incredible, she must have a large supply of energy to fight for extended periods of time. Without an external source, it draws on her own energy, tiring her faster. She may pull energy from items like an ipod or a team mate, but that weakens the team mate as well. Healing: Beth must use her own energy to heal a teammate. She cant heal herself with her own energy, and she must have contact to perform healing or energy transfers. Combat: Beth must have contact with opponent to drain their energy. Defenses (latent): Shields take a large amount of energy and tire Beth out quickly. Flight (latent): Flight has a light, but constant drain on Beth. If she is not careful, she could tire out in mid flight and fall to the ground, potentially dying. Short bio: Beth was born in the north eastern part of England. She was raised as a normal kid, going to school, having friends, you know the drill. When she was 6 though, an event happened that would change her life forever. Her group of friends was being bullied by some older kids. The older kids began to shove Beth and her friends around, when suddenly Beth could take it anymore. She reached up to hit the boy who was bullying her, and released a massive blast of energy, frying the boy and accidentally killing him. Beth was drained of energy to near death, but was quickly taken to a hospitol and recovered. News got around of what Beth had done, and the whole town, even her friends, had shunned her. Parker's caught wind of the young girl and offered her a place at the school where she would be accepted by all and learn to use her powers correctly. Beth took the offer, vowing never to use her powers for harm unless pushed to extremes. Personality: Beth is passive-aggressive, keeping her cool at all times, even when she is furious. She is normally a kind and sweet girl. Quiet and shy, she tends to not stick out very much. Preferred classes: Flight and Levitation, Forcefields and Invisibility, Healing, and Combat Appearance:

Kate rushed up to the new girl who'd arrived at the gates. "Elizabeth, right? I'm Kate. They sent me to show you round. Need a hand with your luggage?" She said it all quite quickly and enthusiastically, sticking out her hand for Beth to shake.

Beth shook the girl's hand and replied, "Oh, that's okay. It's only on bag. Oh, and you can call me Beth...or Liz, either will do." Her voice carried in a soft tone, almost soothing, though shaky from being nervous.

Kate smiled, and said "Okay then, Beth. How about we take your bag up to your room, and then I'll give you the tour. Not that there's much; it's pretty small for a school." She flicked her ginger bangs out of her face with a delicate, freckled hand, and turned to walk up the drive, her trainers crunching on the gravel. She was wearing a white, crinkly blouse, with the sleeves pushed up her arms, and a layered denim skirt. While her skin was porcelain-pale beneath the freckles, they were scattered thickly and evenly all over her face and limbs. "Nice weather, isn't it?" she said conversationally, crinkling her nose in the sunlight. "Did you have a long trip?"

Beth tossed her bag over her shoulder and followed Kate. "Not really, I drove here from Bolton. It's nothing compared to when I visit my cousin's cousins state side." she said with a laugh. She looked up at the sun and sighed, "The weather could be a bit chiller though." Beth had always liked colder weather, and it was pretty warm out, though dressing in long sleeves and dark colours didn't help much either.

[[Sorry this took so long; I've had 2 uni open days and an end of exams party over the last few days, and I find it so hard to post when tired/hungover sweatdrop Oh, and please take note of the corrections, which are, admittedly minor. Apostrophe abuse is my pet peeve, sorry rolleyes ]]
"Oh, you're from Bolton? I thought I recognised that accent." She laughed. "It's nice to meet an English student; mostly they're American. - Not that I mind, of course, but..." She turned a little, lifting her hand to shield her eyes from the sun, and smiled at Beth. "It's nice to talk to people who don't mind the normal British ." They had reached the main doors, which were solid oak and about 7 metres high, and 5 metres wide in total. Fortunately, they were left open during the day. Kate took in the carved stone arch and the simple vine-like carvings on the doors for a second - she liked old buildings - then stepped through, moving towards a small window in the wall of an office to her left. "Okay, so, Reception's here. There should be a newbie pack waiting - aha!" she spotted it, and picked it up, handing it to Beth. "That's got your key, timetable, map, list of library books you need... and everything else." She'd forgotten what else was in there; probably a load of paperwork and prospectuses. The A4 wallet had a number 4 on it. "Looks like you're in room 4. Do you want me to show you where it is?" She pushed a chunk of ginger hair back from her face, and waited for Beth's reply.

(I was wondering where you were, lol. And dont worry about the edits. It's nice to know where I messed up. I'm not the best with punctuation, so any help is appreciated.)
Beth nodded at her comment, as they walked to the doors. The massive wooden slabs dwarfed Beth as she walked through them. As the two made their way to the desk, Beth kept looking back at the doors. *"They look heavy, when's curfew? I'd hate to struggle getting inside." she said being handed the pack with her keys and other bits. When Kate offered to show her to her room, she nodded 'yes' and waited for the girl to take her there.

Kate's mouth opened slightly, and she looked thoughtful for a second before she spoke. "You know, I don't actually know if there is a curfew. The last bus from Larkford to here arrives at about half nine, so most people are usually inside by about 10. It might say in the rules or something." She led Beth to the huge marble staircase in the centre of the entrance hall, and began climbing it, placing a hand on the cast iron rail in the centre. "Your room's on the first floor. Behind this staircase is the classroom corridor, and upstairs is mainly bedrooms, though there are a few classrooms on the roof."
[[You know, I'd never thought of a curfew, but it does make sense, so I'm putting one in the school rules. Thanks!]]

(sorry i took a while to post, stayed over at GF's house)
Beth quickly took mental notes on where everything was. When Kate mentioned her dorm room, her first thought was a nap. Beth wasn't usually the type to be lazy, but an occasional nap had never killed anyone. "Mind if we check out my room, or is there more on the tour?" she asked anxiously.

Kate shrugged, smiling. "Whatever you want. I mean, did you want to see your classes? Most of them are downstairs, in that one corridor. But if you do, let's see" she thought a second before speaking, "Botany, Fire Control, Water Control, or Earth Control, you're outside, Wind control and Flight are on the roof, and Combat's at the back of the school, through the gym. Oh, hey." They'd reached room 4. "Here's your room. Your key's in the pack."

She quickly dug through the pack she was given and found the key. She unlocked the door and dropped her bags on the floor. Beth locked the door and rubbed her shoulders, "Oh, that feels loads better. I think we can see the rest of the school now." she said in a cheery tone.

Kate smiled. "Great! Okay, so what classes are you taking? I'll show you which rooms they're in." She began to walk back down the corridor, watching Beth over her shoulder. She bounced slightly as she walked, her cropped hair flicking into her face. "I don't suppose you have electricity powers? You could be in my Elemental Control - Electricity class if you do. It's a nice class. I mean," she flicked her bangs out of her face again, "We don't have a teacher yet, so we just have Loretta - she's the robot teaching assistant thing - but it's good anyway."

Beth tried to remember what she had read over. Her papers showed a wide variety of classes, "I had healing, combat, flight, and barriers." she said, looking up, as if she thought the classes where were written on the ceiling. "I'm not sure why I got those last two, all my powers are good for is healing and hurting." her mood became a little bummed when she said that last part about her powers.

Kate gave a sympathetic head tilt as she slowed, realising she'd gotten ahead of Beth. "Tell me about it; I electrocute people. I'm good for jump-starting cars, powering TVs, and defibrillation." She rolled her eyes and smiled. "But it depends what your powers are based on. Like, if, say, you could teleport, you might be able to focus that energy into telepathy, or molecular manipulation." She sighed, wistfully. They reached the staircase, and she perked up. "Hey, we can go see the roof, then, if you do flight. I guess they think you can channel your energy into forcefields and air currents or something." She began to ascend another staircase, a little away from the marble one leading downstairs. This one was smaller, and made of the same oak as the front doors. "Up here's the second floor of dorms, then above that's the attic, where some of the teachers live, and then it's the roof." Now that she thought of it, it was kind of interesting that, although the school didn't cover a large area - with basically only the dining hall and classroom corridor on the ground floor (not counting the gym and battle house, which had been added later), like a lot of other manors, it was at least as high as it was wide.

As the two girls made their way up the first flight of stares stairs, Beth began to elaborate on her powers. "Well, I control energy. Pretty much I can move it from one body to another, kind of like a battery charger, or I can store it and release it like a weapon. Once I made a solid figure, but I was never able to do it again. " By the time she had finished her explanation, the two had arrived at the path to the roof. She was thrown off a little by the Teacher's teachers' rooms being on the way to a class. She had expected them to be in a separate building, seeing as the attic was usually for storage.
(sweet, and thanks. My mates and I are getting our avatar guild back into business. I was working on water and earth benders, so I dressed up as one. It helps draw out inspiration at times.)
