User ImageName: Aloe
Nickname(s): Lore
Age (Appearance Wise): early 20s
Age (Actual): 25
Lives: Rooftops
Personality:

Imaginative (+/-): She likes to think, dream, breath the possible, the impossible, and everything in between. Lore's one of those who often lost herself in day dreams. Sometimes she stops talking in mid-conversation to stare into space.
(addition information: Her imagination is a bit strange so I'll have to explain a bit. In certain circumstances, her imagination borders schzophrenia. She doesn't have a special daydream that recurs and they often change from day to day and time to time. Also, if she's interrupted, she may start a whole new concept. She knows that she has a problem and on occasion try to remedy it. After all, if you find yourself dangling off a second story sign, you might think there's something wrong. But she slowly forgets and starts to relapse into another dangerous situation before she tries again.
1. She does read a fair amount and since she doesn't know what half of the books are talking about, she would scribble her own interpretation. (fuel for thought) There are cases where she's got things in her sketchbook that she doesn't know how or why they're there.
2. She might be running across the rooftops and think that she's on a ship (or what she imagines a ship might look like). Sometimes she's just pretending but other times she might actually see herself on a ship.
3. She sometimes catches herself spacing out during conversations because a random thought just popped into her head or something distracted her. On occasion when she's bored listening to other people, she might start imagining what she could be doing and miss out on what they're saying. There are a few times where she would actual answer and respond to conversations while she's in this state and not realize she replied (she daydream sleep talk...) During these times, the thoughts would have evolved into a daydream...
Dependable (+/-): Although people's first impression of her might be that her mind's "not all there," but ones who got to know her understand her honesty and dependability. She's also very keen on aiding her declared friends when able. If they asked her to meet them tomorrow and she agreed, they can count that she would cut off her own limb to get there should the circumstance arise. Fortunately, or unfortunately, many are acquaintances but very few are friends...
Curiosity (+/-): Most of her decision making is driven by her curiosity. She is a bit more curious than the average person but luckily enough to drive her off a cliff if she does not satisfy it. However, she might be a bit edgey and uncomfortable for the next few days.
Honesty (+/-): Lore will tell the truth whenever she can and feels uncomfortable whenever she doesn't. Although she likes to spin tales, she understands the difference between reality and fiction. This personal lie monitor feels very much like an itch that she can't quite scratch. There aren't very many circumstances she would tell a lie and not feel bad. The few includes the time she was a bit late delivering a package and she accidentally dropped it once. She was going to apologize but the receiver was a pompous, self centered customer who yelled at her for being half a minute late and constantly interrupted her confession. In the end, he asked her if she was careful with the package and she snidely said "Yes." He looked down her as though he had every right to be angry, and shut the door loudly in her face and she raced off. She didn't feel at all bad "lying" in that situation.
Adventure Seeking (+/-): A life isn't worth living without a little adventure. Lore's spends most of her free time wondering around the roof tops and floor bottoms of the city trying to find every shortcut and unseen entrance. Very few ever see her wandering around the city during her adventures although they may catch the rustle of fabric against a rough surface. She spends the rest of her free time imagining all the possible adventures she could have...and eating pie.
Impatient (-): When Lore is good at something, she's very good, and when she's not, she's can be rather difficult to teach. She likes to experience rather than be talked at so she makes very costly mistakes. So much so that she's been kicked out of apprenticeship for a fair number of tasks except for the one she finally settled on. She can't stand long tedious lectures and hope never to live in the Upper Layer no matter how luxurious it might sound.
Sarcastic (-): Sarcasm doesn't do so well written out and Lore isn't an exception. She likes to make crude remarks that she doesn't really mean just to show the ridiculousness of the statement but it often comes out like like a horrible criticism. Despite getting into her fair share of problems due to her sarcasm, she's had a hard time trying to stop because it had become so ingrained in her personality. (additional note: She became this way because she was having trouble learning as fast as others around her and that made her a bit bitter. For a while she held all her emotions in but after a horrible outburst and a slap for misbehaving, she started to voice her thoughts out loud. Although she sometimes gets scalded, she is never slapped. She also never had another outburst.)

Thoughts on the Forest: The forest is a place of intrigue and holds bountiful answers for the curious. Since she's never visited it before and being the impatient adventure seeking girl she is, she's extremely curious as to what goes on inside it. All she knows are the tales she's been told, a place where people like herself will eventually go to write The End to their own story. However, Lore believes that one day she will tred through the forest, meet a Forest Guardian, and come back alive to tell the tale! Yet, it's very unlikely that one day will be any time soon...

Thoughts of Book Children: They're different. Lore's uncertain what her true opinions are about these others who live amongst them. She finds the new children a bit irritating as they weren't built with the innate capability to understand her speech while all City People were created with this ability. But some of the older ones are more than tolerable, they bordered fascinating! How could they never die and wear full color?

Thoughts on City People: Potential. Every new and old City Person she hasn't met is a potential friend or foe or even something in between. They are just waiting out there for her to meet and establish their relationship. The thought of endless potential makes her extremely excited and enthralled whenever she thought about it. In general, She loves meeting new people and greeting the old.

Physical Appearance: Lore has her black hair tied in a ponytail close behind her with its tail end pulled over her right shoulder. A single white strand from her bangs was too short to tie back so she tucked it loosely behind her left ear. She wears a white scarf that drapes over her left shoulder. Her simple-but-neat dress has its bottom tied to the right side of her waist with a single ribbon because it often got in the way of her exploration. A pair of athletic bloomers is clearly visible where her skirt is pulled up. They stretched to the edge of her black knee high flat bottom boots. A lion like tail can be seen coming from the back of her skirt where two white metal rings seem to clasp around the bottom of the tuff of hair that sprang from the tail's top and the rings are tight enough that they don't fall off. Her tail was essential for helping her balance along the rooftops. She also wears a pair of white gloves that are cut at the fingertip to allow for grip and feel while protecting her palms from rope burn and cuts.

History: Lore popped into existence on the Gellisham rooftop of some supplies vendor. The 10 year old girl fell with enough force to crack the wood framed crate that supported fifteen or so shovels which she spent the next several months helping the owner repair. She learned a number of things during her stay including the fact that she hated rules and being told what to do even if she eventually followed them. In addition, she was extremely impatient and prone to make snide remarks when she wasn't satisfied. This started with a small tool making competition between her and a neighbourhood boy. Both were unfamiliar with the product in the beginning but the boy picked it up quickly and she failed miserably. Granted he was the pride and joy but she was none the less dissatisfied and bottled up her depression over the loss. From then on, she held in all her discomfort and frustrating experiences and eventually had a horrible outburst at a customer. This earned her a nice slap across the face and disappointment from the vendor who was now like a foster father to her. This started a shift as she began to get a bit more vocal about her thoughts which shifted to pure sarcasm. Despite the comfort that she felt while with the Gellisham residence, she believes she was meant for greater things and left this comfort for higher grounds. The vendor hated to see her go but understood her need. He gave her two silver rings for her extra work which turned white when she clasped them on her tail.

From there, Lore moved to the middle layer to apprentice and eventually learn a trade. She sometimes became impatient during her work and start to daydream. This causes a poor chain of events that ranged from her nearly loosing her fingers to destroying expensive machinery. After being kicked out of several mechanical shops for destroying potential merchandise, the curator of the postage service saw her nimble running ability and picked her up as a Deliverer. It's been the greatest job she's ever received since she was permitted to travel throughout all three levels of the city with ease and explore as much as she liked.

Unlike most City folks, Lore isn't fond of simply writing and telling stories, she wants to be experiencing them! It's to be expected that she's got a book somewhere in her trusty messenger bag for reading on the run. The books told of vast cities and creatures she could barely imagine. The daily schedule was often work while she explored, ate, and slept whenever she gets tired (which sometimes happens to be among the rooftops). She receives average pay for her work but occasionally a kind lady or sir will give her a bit more for her speedy deliveries.

I like her concept! The rooftop-running mail delivery girl is really a fun idea. Basically I noticed a few spelling and grammatical errors but those are minor things for fixing. I'm a little confused about what you mean here:

"She has a bit more than the average person but luckily not enough to drive off a cliff if she doesn't understand or find out something that sparked her curiosity...although she might be a bit edgey and uncomfortable for the next few days."

She's uncomfortable if she can't find the answer to something, right? Just wanted to know! Does this apply to people as well? If she can't understand why someone did something or acted a certain way does she bother them until she an get an answer?

edit; and then I made errors in my post

I'll go back and read through again for grammatical mistakes, sorry about that...

In regards to her curiosity, yes. If there's something abnormal, she'll go out of the way to try and figure it out but not so much that she'll kill herself if she doesn't. For example: if she's finds a treasure chest, she might try every available item in her possession to open it. She might even lug it back to a friend's place for safe keeping and be annoyed for the next few days, but then she'll forget about it because more interesting things come along.

Hello! I'm here to give you a little critique. I'm going to be a little light by default, but I will say you've got some minor grammar/spelling issues to look over. If you want me to help with that, just let me know, but I think you'll find them given some proofreading.

I feel like she needs a little extending as far as what her imagination means to you and to her. Does she know that she looks like a space-case to others or is she totally oblivious? Does she care or try to remedy it? Does she have a special sort of daydream?

You mention honesty under dependable. What kind of honesty does she apply? And how harsh is it? I see one of her other characteristics is sarcasm, so is that her method?

So far, I'm seeing a dreamer and an adventurer who doesn't consider consequences nearly as much as she's seeing possibility. I thought she sounded like a pretty upbeat girl... until I got to sarcasm. Just what about her life prompted her to speak in a way that could rankle with someone else?

I love her history. I'm wondering what about her impatience made her break things in her apprenticeship. Was she careless or did she have a tantrum? xD

And her design is great. I think your art is really cute.

Wow, thanks for taking your time to write all these questions. I wouldn't be surprised if I've still got grammatical errors, English has never been my strongest suit although I'm trying my best to change.

I'll answer all the questions here and then modify the profile.

Her imagination is a bit strange so I'll have to explain a bit. In certain circumstances, it borders schzophrenia. She doesn't have a special daydream that recurs and they often change from day to day. Also, if she's interrupted, she might start a whole new daydream. She knows that she has a problem and on occasion try to remedy it. After all, if you find yourself dangling off a second story sign, you might think there's something wrong. But she often forgets and has to relapse into another dangerous situation before she tries again.

I'll probably separate honesty. She will tell the truth if she can help it and when she doesn't, it bothers her. There aren't very many circumstances she would tell a lie and not feel bad. The few would include the time she was a bit late delivering a package and she accidentally dropped it once. She was going to apologize but the receiver was a pompous, self centered customer who yelled at her for being half a minute late and constantly interrupted her confession. In the end, the asked her if she was careful with the package and she snidely said "Yes." He looked down her as though he had every right to be angry, and shut the door loudly in her face and she raced off. She didn't feel at all bad "lying" in that situation.

She became sarcastic because she was having trouble learning as fast as others around her and that made her a bit bitter. For a while she held all her emotions in but after a horrible outburst and a slap for misbehaving, she started to voice her thoughts out loud. Although she sometimes get scalded for her words, she was never slapped. She also never had another outburst.

Thanks for the compliments about art and story.

In regards to her apprenticeship, it was more carelessness. Machines require a lot of time consuming fixes and she has trouble focusing enough to perform some of them. She nearly lost her fingers a few times.
