Thor stood looking over the valley his giant hooves felt the thundering of many horses below. He had come to find a friend. any friend would do... but they had to be dark... why... because it worked for him... HE snorted. Trotting carefully down into the valley he let out a whinny of welcome to see who showed interest and who didn't. He needed a partner... who would be willing to go and be the brains behind his brawn when he decided to start his own herd.

Jade was tired of walking all day. She had felt restless earlier but now all she wanted to do was rest. She decided to rest in the valley. She liked this valley in particular because there was a water source near by and not many other horses liked to travel this way. This spot was her small oasis. So it was a bit odd when she heard a whinny she was did not recognize. However, it was a welcoming one.
She looked up to see a quite frighting horse come down the hill. His Whinny had not matched his appearance. However, Jade was not one to run from anyone. She gave a welcoming whinny in return.

Thor was greeted my many horses. One caught his eye though. A mare of a cattish nature. He smirked. "Hello!" He trotted carefully. The skull he took with him was strapped to his hip with twin just so he wouldn't lose it. Nodding to a few others as he made his way to the resting mare he paused. "Hello.... Im thor..." He nodded politely. "Do you mind if i rest a while." He had smeared on a charming smile, but it still looked wolfish.

Jade watched as the wild one walked towards her. She could tell by the way he walked that he was no tame horse. He was all free and wild. She saw that he carried the skull of something and wondered what poor animal it was from.
Jade spoke to him with as much grace as possible. She would not make a bad impression even to this wild one, "Hello Thor. I am Jade and I see no reason for you to continue standing if you wish to sit. There is plenty of room here."

Thor smiled and settled himself down next to her."Jade... what a lovely name." He looked her over slightly and then flashed his wolfish grin. "So what brings you to this Valley." The day wasn't the brightest and the sky looked like it would open up and pour.... He looked around. He was just passing through... but he knew it would be a good day now.... he was already accomplishing one goal.

Jade could not help but smile back at his roguish smile. Jade felt her cheeks heat as he complemented her. She was glade that she was all black so he would not see.
"Today was not the best of days....I love coming here because it is quite. However, it seems that we might have to take shelter soon enough. Unless you came here to to get your fur wet." Jade laughed.

He enjoyed that smile a little too much. Then at her words he couldn't help but laugh. He had taken their second meaning. "No... my dear, i think not..." He however grinned. "So shelter would be a must..." His golden eyes glittered. "Really? You find the valley quiet?" Most the time the valley was where many many horses came. "You would find my home silent as the dead if you think this is quiet."

Jade started to stand up. She usually stood under a tree for shelter. However, they were not always effective with staying completely dry. She knew of a cave close to where they were. She would travel there instead.
"Follow me. I know of a cave near by that will keep us dry. I prefer caves to trees. Do you not think they are bit more effective?"
Jade started to walk in that direction. She hoped that he would follow. She was not sure why she wanted this rogue to be anywhere near her but she did. "I come here on quiet days. More are here today then when I am normally here. Today I was restless so took what I could get." She told him while walking.

He followed her. It made sense that she would want to stay dry... here wings were bird like... so it would be harder to gain flight if they were wet. He flapped his wings carefully as walked. His wings were very large. Compared to her.
He felt the first few drops start to fall. An idea occurred to him. Stretching his wings carefully he held one over her. And then the sky opened up and poured. He got drenched. HE would have bet only one or two drops hit her as they walked.
He smiled. "I do think caves work well." He flicked his wolfish tail. "However...water sometimes... doesn't bother me."

Jade really hated the water. She liked to drink it and that was it! Sometimes she wounder if it was just a coincident that she got the cat like markings. She walked faster. This Wild One seemed to be....nice. He had made sure that she was dry with his wings. No male had done this before for her. Well...she was also not around alot of winged males or otherwise.
They had finally made it to the nearby cave. She liked this cave. It was always cool during the summer season.
"You enjoy the water Wild One?" Oh no! She had called him wild. She did not know if he would like that. He might become offended. She started to sit down hoping that he did not mind it. "I am sorry...I did not mean to call you Wild."

Thor walked her to the mouth of the cave and then waited a second before shaking. Very much like the dog that he took his traits from,he enjoyed the rain, but nothing felt better, then a good shake.
He glanced up at her when she spoke. 'wild one' He gave that wolfish grin. "No worries, minx" However his eyes had narrowed in interest. He came in and settled down next to her, he pulled his wings in tight to his back. "I love water....swimming...the rain....anything... but sometimes... it is better not to be wet."

]Minx? No one had called her that before! Jade also pulled in her wings tight.
She shivered as he talked about water. "You are insane! I can not handle the water. Of course, I do enjoy drinking it!" She gave Thor a wide smile. She then remembered that she had never seen him around before.
"I have not seen you around here before. Are you knew around this area?"

He thought about her statement and then frowned."I thought it was a myth that cats dislike water..." He grinned and then looked out the cave mouth and at the rain. He liked his leathery wings. They tended to be best when it came to flying i this type of weather.
"Am i new to the area...yes and no." He lied down and stretched out his front hooves. "I live a bit away.... and only come to the valley when i start feeling lonely...Which is what happened." Thor had many friends.... or were they acquaintances? He mentally shrugged and then looked to her. "So you live around here too?"

Lonely? That was a feeling that Jade could relate too. She had no parents, friends, or any family. She could not even remember what her parents looked like. They had died when she was very young.
"Yes I live close. I wander around. I never stay in the same place. It makes for more excitement. I too...sometimes feel lonely."
Jade watched as Thor settled down in comfort. It looked as if the rain was becoming harder. She sort of wished that it would not stop so her friend would not leave. She did not want to retreat back into the loneliness.

He nodded as she spoke. "Yes... it does make for more excitement." However. He loved his little hide away that was more then a trek off the beaten path. "It just means that you haven't found the right home yet." He raised his head. "You would like my home... it is quiet."
He enjoyed the quiet at times... but he wished for the sound of others at some points.
