Does anybody notice the symbolism used in AC? For example, Chess is used to represent the war between the Assassins and Templars. It has been hinted throughout the series if one pays attention close enough.Examples: -At the Hideout in AC II, There is a map near shaun's workspace with white pawns on it -In the memory sequence where Ezio goes after Carlo Grimaldi, Carlo is playing Chess with the Doge of Venice before poisoning him. -In AC Lineage, Ezio and Federico are playing chess. The Duke of Milan dies on a checkered floor. -In the truth files of ACB, some puzzles require you to move a chess piece to a certain position on a Chess board.

The colors Black, white, and Red are key colors in the series. -Al Mualim wore black Desmond wears a white hoodie over a black shirt. -Altair's armor is black, but he wore his white Assassin robes before. -Ezio wears white in AC II, then Altair's armor, then white again in Brotherhood. The colors white and black seem to foreshadow Desmond's retreat into the Black Room of the animus. -Every AC game has red text. -The Pazzi wear black (Vieri and Francesco) -Federico and Giovanni wear red.I feel that this foreshadows their deaths. -In AC Lineage, Federico's Chess pieces are red and Ezio's are white -The AC:Brotherhood Bonus content disc label has a black animus backround with white lines. I feel that this was a hint that the Animus had an alternate mode -The color black is always seen as the opposite of the color white and vice-versa

huh, I never noticed that until now, it is very interesting. Plus, with chess, you have to basically know the board and all its strategies like the back of your hand if you want to be able to win. With the Assassins and Templars, they've been at each other's throats for so long, it's no wonder they both have thought up intelligent strategies in order to gain an advantage. If you think about it, "The Ones Who Came Before" could be the chess players while the white pieces are the assassins and Templars are black.

Chess is an interesting game indeed, but i could never get sucked into it like other people. *sigh* I doubt that the war between the Templars and Assassin's will ever end. They're too different ideologically to ever see each other as more than enemies.

Through the games I sort of noticed that pattern of black an white which got me to thinking that the Assassin's and Templar's as a game of Chess. As for the Knights Templar looking at them IRL History they were good guys. So it makes me wonder if that will ever come into play in Assassins Creed Revelations or Assassins Creed 3 which I am sure will come out sometime between now and 200 years from now cause they will have like 3 more expansion games before you even get to 3 XD jk jk.
