As promised I give you a nutrition thread ... within this thread I will attempt to inform you of nutrition ...

NOTE: Please consult your doctor before starting a new diet.

Now this process will probably be slow ... I'm gonna have to cover all the bases first before getting into the bit you might want (such as sports nutrition) ... I'm gonna have to cover dietary guidelines and how the body work (at least when it comes to digestion) ... this will take some time ... but you will no doubt benefit from it ...

Thank for your patience ...

Assessing Nutritional Status

Undernutrition: Not enough nutrients – deficiencies develop, body function declines
Overnutrition: Too much – nutrient toxicities, obesity

Desirable Nutrition: Meet’s the body’s needs plus a little extra for hard times

Food Philosophies That Work:
"Consume a variety of foods balanced by a moderate intake of each food"

- Variety: choose different food (especially nutrient dense foods)

- Balance: do not overeat from any single food group, balance your macronutrients, and balance your intake with exercise

- Moderation: control portion size (especially energy dense foods)
