Also known as silvertip bear, Grizzly Bears are a subspecies of Brown Bears who live in the Western uplands of North America. Male Grizzlies are known to weigh between 510 to 990 lbs, while most female Grizzlies are known to weigh between 330 to 770 lb, making the females a little bit smaller. Newborn cubs, on the other hand, usually weigh less than a pound. Grizzlies are Omnivores, like most other bears. One way to distinguish a Grizzly from their Black bear cousins is by the hump which is located on their shoulders.
