Hi! If you aren't up on the Japanese anime version of Naruto, for whatever reason, and don't want to keep seeing all those awful spoilers, but want to discuss the show, you're in the right place. This thread is for the American version of the show that airs on Cartoon Network. This is the place that you can all discuss the newest episodes of the show, or anything you want about it....
And since everyone else is at least up to date with, if not farther along than the American version, there should be no spoilers in here- just talk about what you see on the Cartoon Network show that airs every week, and don't try to jump ahead, even if you know something about what's coming next.

Okay, okay.. I just hate Lee's and Temari's voices... Temari sounds like a someone from Beverly Hills 90210, or The OC... It so does not fit her. And Lee... his voice just isn't deep enough..
But true, the others do grow on you- for a while, for some of them, I didn't even notice the differences.

When i first heard the main voices i wasn't really sure what to think,sasukes voice reminded me of robin from teen titans XD naruto seemed veerrry annoying(but his voice grew on me XP) and i just really didn't like sakuras voice whee but overall, i think they did a pretty good job on the english voices 3nodding oh..but i really can't STAND kankuro's voice xp it sounds to much like a would-be naruto to me...

When I first heard the voices I immediately thought... eek ...but after a few episodes, it didn't seem so bad... mrgreen

I can't wait to watch the anime <3 I want to hear Kakashi's voice hehe. But for now I remain clueless as to what they sounds like crying

I watched the first two episodes and popped back in randomly specifically to hear Gaara and that was it. I couldnt take it. Theyre awful... and the whole 'BELIEVE IT' no.. just just... no. They wouldve had better luck if they had Naruto shouting 'FO SHO!'. It might be because I had already come accustomed to their japanese voices by the time this aired... but whatever the reason. Their pronunciation is horrible, I hate the jutsus having english names, and the voice of Naruto sounds like the 12 year old kid has been smoking since birth... stare I never gave them time to grow on me. Besides... wtf is Naruto without the blood, violence and cursing?! ALL of which is taken out on the CN version! They dont even show you Naruto and Sasukes accidental kiss!! Gyuh... welp thats my opinion! {{ninja poofs}}

Eh, I think the dub is awesome. The voices all fit to the characters in my opinion. I've only heard Naruto's voice in japanese out of the cast, but I thought they sounded similar, his in japanese and english. Sakura sounds like a normal girl's voice, like she should... and Sasuke as well as a normal boy should. You can't really screw them up...

As for cutting or whatever, I've heard it's not that bad, and I've also heard that Naruto says the equivalent of "believe it" in japanese after every sentence as well. And no blood? I've only seen nose bleeds taken out, and I don't see how that ruins a show at all. There was quite a bit more blood left in during the Haku arc than I thought there would be hehe. I think they've tried harder leaving more in anime. It's not a company's fault when there are regulations and rules they must follow...

Oh well, people will always complain...

That's true, but I try not to base my opinion of english voices on the japanese voices. The japanese can screw voices up just as much as the english... it's really about personal opinion, so I take back my complaining comment, and realize now that people are gonna like it and hate it. (I'm gonna guess not all of the japanese people like the voices in the japan version either.)

I guess I don't get why it matters if the english voices and the japanese voices match...
