A few days ago my family was in a disney store and I asked my mom if I could have a framed picture of Alice from Alice in Wonderland. She said no and when I asked why she said it was because it was a picture of a girl. She know's I'm bi so that really got me pissed. When I called her out on it she told me to stop over reacting and she said it was because it was just a picture. Should I be mad at her for saying that or is it a big misunderstanding?

No she dosn't have a problem, she works at a day care center and one baby has moms and she seems to get along with them but it was also the way she said it that got me mad. It was rushed and hushed in the Matter of fact voice.

Maybe you're thinking about it too much? Maybe your mom just didn't want to get it because of the price or something else.....what was the price tag? How is your relationship with your mother in the first place? How about the time when she first found out/you told her you were bi?
Sorry about the questions, it might be a completely different context.

Without more context, my guess would be that you shouldn't buy a picture when pretty much every picture that's ever existed can be found on the internet for free. I wouldn't read too much into it. Disney is known for being overpriced anyway!

It's most likely a misunderstanding.

If it's the cartoon Alice..yeah, she's kinda cute. If it's Alice from the movie w/Johnny Depp....yeah, that one's kinda cute, too.
ANYway...I know it hurt the way your Mom just brushed it off but I wouldn't get too worked up about it.
